Honda CR tech info
Honda CR description
Hello,
I'm selling my well used 92 CR250R two stroke. I bought this bike in January to see if I wanted to get back into Motocross. I used it a few times at the MX track and had a blast on it. For its age, it still can haul ass around the track. It seems like at some point, someone put some work into the suspension as it was soaking up big hits nicely. Also, this bike definitely had to have been rebuilt recently as the motor runs fantastic. Now for the bad stuff. Today I headed to the MX track, ready to shred some laps. When I got out on the track and cranked the throttle, the bike revved but barely moved. To my dismay, the clutch plates are at the end of their life. They probably have been in the bike for quite some time. While looking at the plates, I also noted that the Pro Circuit pipe that is on the bike has developed a crack right in the expansion chamber area. It has not started leaking yet, but it will at some point. I've only had this bike for a few months. While I had it, I replaced the air filter, rear tire and rear wheel bearings and kill switch. Everything else was in good shape when I bought the bike. I am listing this bike for $700 since it needs a few things before you can ride it. The bike still runs great, it just doesn't move very well. I am not flexible on the price. If I cannot get $700 for it as is, I will just fix the few things wrong with it and finish out the season on it. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions. I will not ship the bike. If you decide to move forward with purchasing it, you will need to come to Plymouth Meeting, PA, to pick it up. One final thing, I do not have a title for this bike. I imagine this bike has probably been bought and sold so many times over the past 24 years that the title is long gone (if there even ever was one). |

2013 Honda CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R Recalled in Australia
Tue, 18 Feb 2014Honda has recalled its 2013 CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R models in Australia because of a defect that could cause an oil leak. At the moment, no recall has been announced for the U.S., though there is a good possibility one will be announced shortly, as all 500-series models are manufactured in the same Honda factory in Thailand. There is a similar recall for the Japanese market for the CB400F, CB400X and CBR400R, which are mechanically identical to Honda’s 500-series models, but with a smaller engine to meet the country’s tiered licensing requirements. According to the Australian and Japanese recall notices, the rocker arm shaft sealing bolt may come loose, causing oil to leak from the engine.
2012 Honda CRF250L Announced for Europe But Not For America … Yet
Wed, 29 Feb 2012Honda announced it will introduce the new CRF250L to Europe this year. North American availability has not been confirmed, though it appears the new dual-sport, which shares a similar engine to the Honda CBR250R, may soon be announced for these shores. While there’s no official word on the Honda CRF250L in the U.S.,the liquid-cooled dual sport has already appeared in North America, appearing last weekend at the Montreal Motorcycle Show.
