Honda CR description

The last year of the free-air model Honda Elsinore for the 125cc class. Also the last year for the dual shock design and the first year for the plastic gas tank. Truly a collectable piece in the transition period from the classic vintage bikes to the water-cooled mono-shockers of today.

The motor is fresh and has about 5hrs time on the top end it. Newer sprockets, seat cover, tires, K&N air filter, Boysen reeds, inner rear mud flap, shorty clutch and brake levers, throttle and grips.Carb is cleaned and fresh. Plastics are OEM except the Acerbis rear fender and aftermarket front number plate. One of the side panels has been repaired but, is solid and very presentable for a race bike. Note: some of the pics do not show a rubber strap holding the number plate on, it is shown in the last few pics and is included in the sale.

I rode this bike around my property for about an hour a every year to keep it in good running condition. Other than that it has been pampered and stored in my shop with my other Elsies... Here is a link to a video clip a few years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e3i5ksNRiQ

There are some cosmetic flaws here and there and I want to make that very clear to all bidders. If you have questions or need more pics emailed  please ask and I will respond asap.

Frame and motor serial are very close (JE01-2100567 on the motor, JE01-2100584 on frame). Considered to be matching numbers.

I will ship, however shipping costs and arrangements are the buyers responsibility. I DO NOT HAVE PALLETIZING CAPABILITIES, you will need to find a service that can pick up at my home and take it from there.

Thanks,

McGuinness Tests Mugen Shinden Electric Race Bike

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Isle of Man TT veteran John McGuinness recently got a chance to test the new Mugen Shinden electric rice bike to prepare for the 2012 TT Zero. The test took place at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, a world-class racing circuit but perhaps not-coincidentally, a track built and owned by Honda, further fueling the belief the Mugen effort is a front for the Japanese manufacturer. The Honda-contracted McGuinness put the Shinden through its first big test, helping the Mugen team gather data on the electric racer.

Honda 'Hands'

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

Honda are well known for their commercials with their 'Cog' ad for the Honda Accord car (2003) the most awarded of its time. Honda's latest advert celebrates the curiosity of their engineers and features classic motorcycles such as the Honda Cub and the RC112. A CBR and CRF also make an appearance along with a nod to that previous ad, a cog.

How about Edwards at Repsol Honda?

Wed, 13 Jun 2012

Casey Stoner's decision to retire at the end of the season has had a real shake-up for the Repsol Honda line-up along with the discussion, rumour and speculation of who will take his vacated seat for next season. With silly season occurring much earlier following Stoner's announcement at the French GP in May, rumours and speculation have been banded around with three candidates leading the way: Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Lorenzo, until he was confirmed to stick with Yamaha for another two seasons, was the most plausible of the trio as both himself and Casey are the top two riders in the world right now, making him the obvious choice after the Australian departs.
