I NEEDED VERY LITTLE EFFORT TO SEE THE BIKE WAS A PRISTINE MACHINE FOR DISPLAY ON A SHOWROOM, OR RACED IN THE EVO CLASS VINTAGE MX. THE FRAME IS PAINTED WITH THE OEM PAINT COLOR NEW TIRES, BUCHANON SPOKES, ON GOLD EXCELL RIMS! I PUT ALL NEW PLASTICS ON THE BIKE, CABLES, GRIPS, SEAT COVER. ENGINE WAS PORTED POLISHED, CARB JETTED, ALL NEW CRANK BEARINGS, TOP END. BIKE IS A GOOD ONE TO RIDE SINCE QUITE AGILE, LIGHT FOR AN OPEN BIKE! NEW THROTTLE ASSEMBLY! Press launches - the ugly truth. Part 3
Sun, 03 Apr 2011So with an afternoon of sightseeing completed (a rare luxury on most launches) it's back to the hotel for the press conference. These are you usually long winded, tooth pulling affairs with Japanese technicians insisting on speaking their bestest engrish which only serves to elongate the proceedings. Nothing kills a presentation more than reading every word of a powerpoint slide verbatum, even thought the viewers can read exactly the same words (and probably a lot faster). The Crossrunner presentation was mercifully brief and snappy followed by dinner in the hotel and a reasonably early night as everyone had already been up for twenty hours.

Honda RC-E Electric Sportbike Revealed at 2011 Tokyo Motor Show
Wed, 30 Nov 2011We’re still waiting for any technical details but here are initial photographs Honda has released of its new RC-E electric sportbike concept at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. (Updated with six more high-resolution images.) Honda describes the RC-E as an electric version of a supersports bike, claiming a powerful and smooth ride for an electric vehicle within the compact form of a 250cc-class motorcycle. The images clearly show Brembo calipers and Ohlins suspension, and we especially like the LED headlights and the retro styling.
