1972 Honda Cl450; Frame-off Restoration on 2040-motos
Honda CL tech info
Honda CL description
Looking for a pristine CL450, look no further. This 1972 Honda
CL450 has been completely restored; "a frame-off restoration". It is
in showroom condition, you can proudly ride it or show it.
When dismantled, all painted surfaces were bead blasted to bare metal. Gas tank interior was de-rusted by a Rusteco solution; rusteco.com
. Gas tank and air filter covers were professionally painted. New decals
applied and then painted with a clear coat, a very good UV protection.
A used but VERY nice condition replacement speedometer installed on the
bike reading, 9,821 miles. The original speedometer and title read,
25,045 miles, which was replaced because it was dented. Exhaust system, both rims, gas cap, rear spokes, head light ears and the top bolts of front forks were all re-chromed. New wheel bearings, seals on both front and rear wheels and new tapered steering bearings installed. Wheels were trued up at the local Honda Shop. New rubber rim strips inner tubes and tires installed; Dunlop K70's. All turn signals and front stems are new. Chain and sprockets are like new. New battery.
Engine overhauled, new pistons and rings; .025 over, (1st bore). Valves cleaned and and lapped in, new valve seals installed. New cam chain. Transmission and shifting assembly are in perfect order. Carbs cleaned and rebuilt. Lots of NOS nuts, bolts and screws, handle bar grips, levers, foot pegs and mirrors.. Everything works and runs well. This bike has been restored to original and show room condition. Just one minor bad; the rear fender at one time had someone work out a dent and there is some telltale evidence, but hardly noticeable, the chrome is good. All this bike needs is a new owner, as I have another Honda waiting in the wings for me to restore. If you need more info??? Please contact me with your questions.
The VIN#, CL4505016740, the ENGINE # CL450E-5016764. So, the engine is only 24 off of the VIN# which is very close for a Honda assembly line, making this bike a numbers matching bike.
Also, A tool kit is included.

Surely more wins are on the cards for Seeley and the 2011 Gixer?
Thu, 02 Jun 2011The amazing Alex Lowes is deservedly grabbing all the attention in the BSB paddock at the moment, but I believe last year’s top Superbike rookie, Alistair Seeley is doing an equally impressive job in the Supersport class. Although he looks ten years younger, thirty one year old Seeley is riding one of only two 2011 600 GSXRs (fellow countryman Marty Nutt is on the other) in the class. Alistair has finished on the podium four times including a race win at the opening Brand Hatch round and currently lies second in the championship. He also took victory on the Gixer in the only race run at the North West 200 last month and was looking like the runaway winner last Sunday at Thruxton until electrical gremlins struck after opening up a seven second lead.
Honda Zoomer X Prototype – New Ruckus Concept Revealed in Thailand
Wed, 28 Mar 2012Honda Thailand unveiled a new prototype at the 2012 Bangkok International Motor Show showcasing the next generation of the Ruckus scooter. Known as the Zoomer in other markets, the Honda Ruckus is probably best known for its non-traditional scooter styling, with the usual tiny tires and wasp-like body replaced by a fat rubbers and exposed tube frame. The Honda Zoomer X maintains the original’s rugged-looking tires but instead of the exposed tubes, the Zoomer X has a boxy-looking structure, though like the original the space under the seat is exposed to the elements, so if you want to store something there you might have to break out the bungee cords.
Rumor Check: Honda's Mini-Africa Twin Will Be The XL750 Transalp
Tue, 23 Aug 2022Trademark filings confirm the return of a familiar name. Back in May 2021, MO’s resident sleuth Dennis Chung took a dive into the rumor mill surrounding a possible mini-Africa Twin coming from Honda. Trademark filings for the name Transalp were filed in several markets around the world, including the U.S.
