Honda CL description
Every summer
I think I am going to have time to finish this project, and every summer I am
wrong, so due to a sudden move to Philly here it is, up for sale. It's spent the majority of the last 2 and a half years in my stored in my shed.
The following stuff has been replaced in the last 4 years and has less than 100 miles of use: -Clutch pack -tires (the wheels were also checked for true and the insides of the rims were sandblasted and sealed with rust proofer) -various gaskets and seals -ignition coils -ignition points (which I just checked and are still clean and within adjustment) -valve adjustment -Carbs are completely rebuilt and cleaned to a very high standard. They were also drained and sprayed out before storage so they are still in very good shape. However, they likely need to be synced and adjusted. -Just had an oil change
The following stuff is wrong: -The whole bike is a little scruffy and most of the chrome has some pitting, there are dings here and there, small oil leaks, etc. It cleans up nice for a runner though, as you can see in the pictures which are about a week old. -I noticed shortly before putting it in storage that one of the head bolts was slightly loose. I tightened it back to spec and it ran fine for a few weeks afterwards, at which point it went unused for quite a while. However, I would imagine this means it is going to need a head gasket in the near future. -I went to start it the other day and it started leaking fuel from the petcock really bad. If I get time to fix this, I will fire it up and take a video for anyone who wants to see. I am in the middle of moving though, and may not have time. It should be pretty easy to get running though.
Custom stuff: -Drop bars -rear sets (homemade, shifts “upside down”) -custom seat (homemade) -1969 cb350 fenders -Slightly modified gas tank off of I believe a cb750 or cb500-4, but I am not entirely sure about that, someone gave it to me. -Pod filters (carb needles still need to be shimmed to get any real performance benefit from these, but the PO put them on, and they look cool)
Clear NJ title in my name
Several large boxes of spare parts
Bike is going up with no reserve because I am moving and
have nowhere to put it any more. This thing has to be gone as soon as possible.
Anyone who wants to see it before bidding is welcomed to do so. I am living
between Philadelphia and the South Jersey shore at the moment, but I will work
with you to the best of my ability to show the bike. Just give me a day or two notice. I encourage everyone interested to shoot me a message and ask any questions you may have.
100 Dollar non refundable PayPal deposit due within 24 hrs of auction end, rest in cash on pick up. As is, no returns, this thing is over 40 years old so do your research and feel free to ask any questions. I won’t ship this, so if you want it shipped you are going to have to sort all that out yourself. Sorry! |

Motorcycle Gymkhana: The Perfect Use For A Helmet-Mounted Swivel Camera – Video
Fri, 09 Aug 2013We’ve posted motorcycle gymkhana videos before, but this takes the production value up just a notch with the camera mounted on a swivel on the rider’s helmet! In case you aren’t familiar with this form of motorcycle competition, the course is generally set in a large parking lot type setting and is marked with cones. But this isn’t your basic rider course.
