For those of you not familiar with the crazy Derek Specials, i've been doing this for years and a lot of people absolutely love it. All the crazy Derek Specials start at $1 and never have a reserve. I lose on some and win on some. These are always sold as is and I will describe them the best I can. Along with my own evaluation, I also have a mechanic go over the vehicles. Not every scratch and dent can be noted, so please bare with me. I post Motorcycles, ATV's, PWC's, Scooters and snowmobiles. As always, good luck bidding!
This Crazy Derek Special is a 2005 Honda CBR 600RR. This bike fires right up and runs great. It can be driven off the lot. However, it has a few minor issues that need to be noted. The main thing is that it appears to have been down on both sides. Nothing crazy, but I can see scratches as evidence. The other thing is that it's slightly out of allignment. The smaller things that we noticed is that the front brakes are around 10% and should be changed in the near future. The seat is missing a bolt and is currently not bolted down. It does have one bolt you can use, but it's not currently bolted. The seat is also a little torn up and could be recovered. The front fender has been painted and the job wasn't done very well. This isn't too noticable unless you know about it. I probably wouldn't do anything about it, but that's up to you. The plastics are actually in pretty nice shape, but they used different fasteners for the plastics. I'm not sure if the plastics were replaced or not. The wiring was done poorly as you can see in the pictures. The blinkers and brake lights work, but one headlight does not. I do not know if it's just a bulb and these are not stock. The previous owner also put aftermarket lights on it along with the switch you see in the pictures. These lights do not go on with the switch. The brake lever is a little bent, but that can be bent back or replaced. The exhaust has been painted as well and like the front fender, not a very good job. Overall, this would be a great bike for someone that wanted to fix a few things. Mechanically, this is in pretty nice condition. It's all the little things that add up. It would be a great bike for someone that can put a little time and TLC into.
Good luck bidding or doing the buy it now price!
