Honda CBR description

2013 HONDA CBR1000RR REPSOL, The Essential Superbike. It s hard to improve on a machine that s already as good as Honda s incredible CBR1000RR. You can build a faster bike or one with more power, but probably nothing that combines power, handling, riding quality, and overall build quality to the degree this versatile open-class sportbike does. And that s a huge issue. Riders everywhere are rediscovering the fact that they want a motorcycle that sets high standards, but sets them in a balanced way. CBR riders have known that for decades. And they know another secret: a better balanced bike can actually be faster than one with just a lot of power.

Honda Announces 400cc Version of 500-Series Engine

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Honda has revealed a new, smaller-displacement variation of the 470cc parallel-twin engine introduced on its new CBR500, CB500F and CB500X models. The new engine has a bore of 67mm, just like Honda‘s 500-series engine, but a stroke of 56.6mm instead of the longer 66.8mm. The result is an engine displacement of 399cc, which makes the new engine a better fit for markets such as Japan license restrictions are much stricter for engines larger than 400cc.

More European Consumers Choosing Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Honda‘s work developing its second-generation dual clutch transmission appears to be paying off, at least in Europe. According to Honda, customers have purchased more than 12,500 units with DCT since the technology was first made available on a production motorcycle with the VFR1200F in 2010. The Japanese manufacturer now offers four models in Europe with optional DCT: the VFR1200F, the NC700X, the NC700S, and the Crosstourer.
