Honda CBR description

2013 Honda CBR 500R, 2013 Honda CBR500R The Next Step Up...The CBR500R is a true Honda mid-size sportbike, purpose built for riders looking for a fun combination of power, handling, racy excitement and everyday usability. Its light and compact 470 cc DOHC fuel-injected parallel-twin engine emphasizes strong low and midrange power, using a blend of all-new technology and features developed for the CBR600RRA and CBR1000RRA. A sleek, aerodynamic fairing inspired by the CBR1000RRA and sporty 17-inch wheels with a unique Y-shaped spoke design make it easy to mistake the CBR500R for one of the bigger-displacement CBRs, but light overall weight and a narrow width help to give it a nimble personality all its own. And with a seating position that s more relaxed than on most sportbikes, the CBR500R is perfectly happy to take you to work on the weekdays and then head far from home on the weekends. This is a bike with almost limitless potential a bike that you ll continue to find new ways to enjoy, year after year after year. With the introduction of the all-new CBR500R, Honda boldly redefines the middleweight class and infuses a whole new level of excitement for sport riders in search of superior value along with great fun. The CBR500R delivers plenty of performance to all sport riders, including riders moving up from the sporting, entry-level Honda CBR250R, as well as more experienced riders who will appreciate the CBR500R's light and nimble handling. Credit its thoroughly modern, torquey 500cc parallel-twin DOHC engine that's wrapped in a great-handling chassis featuring a full fairing spawned from Honda's much-acclaimed CBR600RR and CBR1000RR sportbikes. This aerodynamic bodywork also provides significant advantages in air management for added rider comfort, along with a low drag coefficient and effective engine cooling. A sophisticated chassis with Pro-Link single-shock rear suspension, stout 41mm fork, sporting 17-inch wheels and a 320mm wave-style front disc brake and 240mm rear disc help round out a package that looks as good as it rolls. The CBR500R features a full bodywork cowl and a 31-inch seat height. It s an excellent choice for riders ready to move up a displacement class, or for any rider who s looking for a light, sporting, do-it-all street machine.Parallel Twin-Cylinder Engine An all-new design, the CB500R is built with a high-performance, liquid-cooled 500cc DOHC parallel-twin engine that offers plenty of accessible power. Honda twins have always been some of the best motorcycle engines anywhere reliable, efficient, and fun to ride.

16-year-old Sophie Walls is not your common teenager, along with achieving 14 GCSEs yesterday she balances her studies with being one of the youngest female racers in the country. Sophie rides a Honda RS125 in the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club and was fortunate that the Sir Graham Balfour School she attends in Stafford gives her sporting leave so she can travel to race meetings. She told thisisstaffordshire.co.uk: "My school gave me sporting leave, normally on a Friday, so I could travel to the race meetings.

Report: Honda to Increase NC700 Engine Displacement

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

British site Visordown reports Honda will release an updated version of its NC700 series with a larger engine for 2014. The larger versions will reportedly carry an extra 50cc, pushing its displacement to 720cc from the current 670cc used on the NC700X, NC700S and Integra scooter. But why would Honda introduce a larger engine so soon after introducing its NC line in the 2012 model year?

Video: Honda Crossrunner v mountain pass

Fri, 01 Apr 2011

This road (the one in the video) was a previously unseen, super-steep mountain pass which needed first gear for the hairpins and second between them with an occasional grab at third on the quicker sections. It was the sort of road that pumps up your forearms and makes you crane your neck to see what's coming next (mainly cyclists). The surface was rubbish.
