Honda CBR description

The CBR250RA is far removed from the sort of basic commuter bike often found in this class ??? it???s a true Honda sportbike loaded with sophisticated engineering and high-tech components. The good stuff starts with the CBR250RA???s jewel of an engine. Purpose-built just for this bike, the 249 cc liquid-cooled single with PGM-FI electronic fuel injection was conceived, engineered and built to provide an optimum torque curve for street riding, impressive top-end power, and the superior power-to-weight ratio that makes riding a high-performance 250 so exciting. The compact size of the engine was a key element in allowing engineers to create a sporty chassis and rider ergonomics that comfortably fit riders big and small. With its centralized mass, compact wheelbase, full-size 17-inch wheels, nimble steering geometry and light overall weight, the CBR250RA achieves that magical state of feeling like it???s responding to your very thoughts.ENGINEEngine Type 249.4cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke Bore And Stroke 76mm x 55mm Induction PGM-Fi, 38mm throttle body Ignition Computer-controlled digital transistorized with electronic advanceCompression Ratio 10.7:1 Valve Train DOHC; four valves per cylinder DRIVE TRAINTransmission Six-speed CHASSIS / SUSPENSION / BRAKESFront Suspension 37mm fork; 4.65 inches travel Rear Suspension Pro-Link single shock with five positions of spring preload adjustability Front Brake Single 296mm disc/ABS Rear Brake Single 220mm disc/ABS Front Tire 110/70-17 radial Rear Tire 140/70-17 radial DIMENSIONSRake 25.0 degrees Trail 98.6mm (3.9 inches) Wheelbase 53.9 inches Seat Height 30.5 inches Curb Weight 366 pounds. BMW 1000RR and the Honda C70, are they indestructible?

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

I’ve managed 1374 miles on the Michelin Power Pures (mostly on track) and although we’ve had some decent temperatures they still look like new so there’s plenty meat left for another month at least. I’ve been running them at 30psi front and 32psi rear and find they warm up after a few miles but I wouldn’t say the temperature comes any quicker than any of the competition so it has to be four miles before I get brave. I’ve had a few out the seat moments with my BMW but I have got the rear suspension  set pretty hard (8 rebound,8 compression, two turns on pre load) and in slick mode, so 190bhp in first gear at the Knockhill hairpin is always going to be dodgy.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).

Pedrosa, Marquez, Bradl Talk About Racing, Motorcycles, And Each Other

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

In order to use footage from a Dorna-sanctioned MotoGP test session — say, for marketing or promotional reasons — a team must receive approval from Dorna. The process is tedious, and even if permission is granted, there are strict limitations as to what the material may or may not be used for. So when Honda decided to conduct its own private test (which Yamaha also joined), at the Circuit of the Americas, it was free from any and all Dorna mandates.
