Honda CB description

I acquired this bike last summer from the original owner who purchased the bike new in Japan while he was stationed there in the navy. Before I got the bike it had been sitting in a garage for 10 years and had not run. It had a full tank of gas and a tank liner that had failed. Over the winter I resurrected her. The tank has had the failed liner removed and a new (Redcoat) liner installed by a professional who specializes in tank restoration. I've completely disassembled the carburetors and soda blasted them clean and rebuilt them with all the necessary new parts. The calipers and master cylinders have been completely rebuilt with new parts all around. There are also new brake pads and brake hoses front and rear. The bike has fresh oil and filter, spark plugs and air filter. Tires are in excellent condition. Everything works as it should. The bike is all stock except for the 4 into 1 Kerker exhaust, rear shocks and mirrors. Bike comes with the complete original tool kit and owners manual. It has the original paint but it could use some attention. It is only original once and I've opted to let the next owner decide what they want to do with it. I have a mostly complete documented history from the original owner as well as for the work I have done. I have put about 40 miles of test ride on this bike. I'll probably test ride it some more as the weather improves. Will consider a Yamaha TW200 towards a trade.

2014 WSBK – Assen Results

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.

Simon and Leo

If you are a track day regular this year, you may well have bumped into former racer and friendly Kiwi, Simon Crafar. I first met him in Malaysia in 1990 when he was riding for a Yamaha dealer team, sweating his way round circuits like Shah Alam and Johor Bahru but with a long term plan to make it onto the World scene. And he didn’t take long as after riding for Honda in the UK in 1992 he moved to WSB in 1994 and enjoyed success with both the Honda and Kawasaki factory teams.
