Honda CB description

Had a $1200 service by Honda before being parked several years ago THEN I purchased it and performed the following work:

New MAC 4 into 2 exhaust (like stock)

New CR smoothbore carbs w/ NOS intake manifolds (absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find for an A) including remote idle screw adjustment for warming up.

NOS King/Queen seat

New battery

Took apart, detailed, polished and waxed everything as you can see bike is nearly immaculate original condition DID square shoulder type rims w/no corrosion, tank is perfect inside and out, bikes starts immediately and sounds AWESOME!

NOTES: Bike has original 1977 dealer installed options as follows; VETTER Windjammer in perfect condition, pockets are intact no rot, fiberglass perfect windscreen clear, and have ORIGINAL VETTER MANUAL; luggage rack and adjustable backrest with HONDA on it, slides forward for driver without passenger; highway bar with pegs; locking cruise control, SHOE fiberglass saddlebags in good restorable condition.

What does it need: All turn signals work but blink fast probably needs heavier flasher, Seat needs 1 or 2 screws tapped into metal pan for stock hinge installation I just hadn't gotten around to it, and the carbs need the needles raised for more mid range, it runs GREAT but there is a significant flat spot mid range.

XTRAS Included: Chilton Manual; Cover; Baffels (they are out now); new shocks (the stock ones work fine still); upper shock nuts stock ones are a little rusty; extra smaller and larger jets for the smoothbores for your tinkering pleasure; new front brake shoes just in case; stock seat in perfect condition soft and pliable not stiff, no cracks; stock tool kit and kicker pedal; and saddlebags. *Stock carbs (supposedly rebuild but were gummed up when I got it) and airbox with new filter is included in case you want to take the smoothbores off.

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

Spy photographers have captured Honda‘s new three-bike 500-series in the midst of filming for a commercial at the Piazza Garibaldi in Naples, Italy. The images, published on Il Centro, reveal Honda‘s new sportbike-styled CBR500, the naked CB500R which we first revealed in September, as well as an adventure-styled model bearing the name CB500X. The three new models are expected to share the same  engine, believed to be a 470cc parallel twin.

Honda MotoGP Testing Idled By Engine Failure Investigation

Wed, 29 Feb 2012

A red warning light prevented Honda riders from taking part in the second day of MotoGP testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. While its competitors were hitting the track, Honda was forced to wait for analysis on the engine of Dani Pedrosa‘s RC213V. A red warning light on the RC213V’s dash came on late in the first day of testing, indicating a potential failure.

Karel Abraham to Ride Honda Production Racer for 2014 MotoGP season

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

MotoGP team Cardion AB announced it plans to field rider Karel Abraham in the 2014 Championship on Honda‘s new RC213V-based production racer. Cardion AB becomes the second MotoGP team to select Honda’s production racer. The Gresini Racing team will also use the Honda machine, which is no surprise considering the team’s history with Honda prototypes.
