1974 CB350f, one of the great examples and rarest models of the 70's. Made only 3 years and one of the most technically advanced bikes of the times. Gets looks and questions at every stop. I've hardly ever scene another runner on the roads. (this is a fantastic bike on the twists). Starting price less than The Good n' Bad. n" F'ugly......... The bike has very few miles over the last 43 years at true 12,700. 99.8% original, other than pipes, which are new Kerker 4 into 1's. The sound is sweet with a low and powerful growl. Seat, still comfortable and newer looking, with No rips, tears or sagging from use. Handel bars straight and true, still with original grips, controls and mirrors. Recently completed extensive tuning and oil change. Including 4 individual carburetor cleaning and reworks with pressure synchronization. New cables, throttle, clutch and speedo, All Via certified Honda mechanic, now retired. Lucky Dude. Immediate start with kick or electric and great throttle response. Hardly needs warm up. New front tire 200 miles, rear ok thru next season. Fresh NY state safety inspection. Good chain and sprockets, ready to rock n' roll the corners. The F'ugly stuff, Cosmetics only. Gas tank (coated) and side covers could use a new finish. As typical among this years hondas, holding clear coats was an issue and peeling or blistering was common. No exception here. Being black, it should not be too much trouble and minimal cost. If you like, replace the decal kit ($50 ebay) and go for original. Chrome on fenders, not much better, blistered, and can be re-chromed. (replace both at $120 ebay). note; tons of parts available and all body parts interchangeable with similar Honda bikes of the era. I've restored many a honda over the last few years and had No problems finding replacement bits n' pieces. (fenders, tanks, exhaust to engine covers and wheels). The important thing to remember about this bike, is that it truly runs and sounds great, and Honda quality and engine reliability. Cafe' Ready.... I do not believe the bike has ever been down other than a tip over in my garage the 1st time I parked in garage. (stand not extended completely). I've had 20 plus bikes over the years, and can always tell when ones gone down. Scratches, dents, scrapes from road rash on cases or grips, levers or mirrors. Absolutely nothing, No marks of the kind with this scooter. Original chain guard, cable set and shift and original clutch levers also come with the bike, if going for true restoration. Also have a set of 4 into 2 exhaust available for small charge if wanted. (non factory). I got this originally to Cafe' because it's got such an intricate and unique motor that runs so well. Already has the upgraded rear shocks and 4 into 1 exhaust, so the major expense for a Cafe' is already done. I was going to resell the parts taken off to fund the changover, seat $200, covers and tank $300 plus, and so on. Other peeps tell me to restore the paint and run Vintage shows. Not really sure the way to go, but now I've got no choice. Health issues and a transplant are on the near horizon. Part of the commitment other then cash, is no bikes...........wth? Pit Biking; good clean fun for all the family
Wed, 01 Feb 2012If you haven’t tried Pit Biking yet, you’re missing out on some incredible fun, and it won’t break the bank. The majority of pit bikes are of Chinese origin and I guess, are best described as modern day monkey bikes. Yes Chinese, and I’ve witnessed them being thrashed round all day long without missing a beat, so Jonny Wong and co. are finally getting there on quality and reliability! Although Pit Bikes are designed for off road use, an extra few hundred quid spent on matching up wheels, fitting tarmac tyres and some crash protection will mean you’re track ready for a total of around £600.
Church of MO: 2002 Honda 919 First Ride
Sun, 22 May 2022Here at modern MO, we probably wouldn’t publish a road test of a new Honda without a few photos of the thing in action. Twenty years ago, though, there was probably a perfectly reasonable-sounding excuse: My dog ate the film, a bear ate the photographer… Most probably, somebody slud the shiny new Honda 919 down the road on the way to the shoot, and the show had to go on. Who knows?
WSBK 2013: Monza Race Report
Mon, 13 May 2013Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri split a pair of victories at Monza but the most biggest news from the World Superbike weekend was a strange series of appeals after Race Two that saw Tom Sykes finish third, relegated to fourth and then reinstated on the final step of the podium. The unusual mix-up occurred after Sykes, sitting in third place, ran off track and into the run off area on Turn 5 on his final lap. The Kawasaki rider returned to the track again in third place where he finished ahead of Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli.
