Honda CB description
1972 CB350 K4 Here is a
very nice 1972 CB350 K4 Twin in Honda’s “Light Ruby Red” color. This motorcycle has been treated to a
thorough detailing, and looks outstanding.
There are lower mileage CB350s out there, but few are as clean as this
one. It is also very hard to find red
CB350s that don’t have badly sun faded paint.
The paint on this bike still is bright red. Even the red zone on the tachometer is still
a deep shade of red. The side cover looks faded on top in the second photo. It isn't. My camera overloaded on the red in the sunshine. Mechanically,
this CB350 runs great. It starts easily
and settles into an even idle. It pulls
well through the gears and stops smoothly.
Headlight, taillight, brake light, turn signals, instrument lights, high
beam indicator light and horn all work properly. New front and rear tires (and tubes) with a
classic tread pattern have been installed.
A new seat cover and strap in the correct Honda pattern was also installed. It will remain soft and flexible for many
years to come. The gas tank
is dent-free, but does have a few minor scratches. The side covers are free of cracks, but the left side cover has a noticeable scratch, about an inch long. The inside of the gas tank is very clean. The original petcock would not flow gas on
the reserve position, so a new Honda petcock was installed. The carbs have been cleaned and rebuilt, and
the fuel lines have been replaced with new ones. Many other items
on this 40+ year old motorcycle were tended to during the “nut and bolt” detailing
process, such as replacing the drive chain. It is not perfect, but nevertheless, it is still
stunning. As it stands now, this CB350
can be ridden and enjoyed, or rolled into your living room and admired as a
work of motorcycle “art”. Now is your
chance to own this classic. PayPal

Hot on-board laps of Cadwell with Josh Brookes
Thu, 30 Sep 2010You've got to be reasonably mental to ride a 200bhp Superbike on slicks around the narrow cart track that is Cadwell Park. We've met Josh Brookes a few times and we can vouch that he qualifies highly for the task in hand. That's a compliment, by the way.
Bahrain track days
Tue, 17 Dec 2013A few months ago, expat (and ex racer) John Beddall made contact to ask if I fancied doing some track day instruction out in Bahrain. After thinking about it for two seconds, flights were booked and a plan was put in place to look after around forty riders for a day at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). Young Taylor Mac was also recruited to look after any tasty riders that I couldn’t deal with The Brits out there love their bikes, however, quite a few locals also turned up plus a few others from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. Most were on high end Superbikes, like S1000s, Panigales and RSV4s but there was also a healthy number R6s and new 675Rs. Although this fabulous Hermann Tilke designed circuit is around ten years old incredibly it has never hosted a bike race. The highlight of the year there is F1 but being owned by the Bahrainian Royal family, there is no desperate need for the circuit to operate as a profitable business. The track reminded me of Qatar but much more interesting as some great undulations have been built into its desert location. We shared the track with Supercars on the day (20mins on/20mins off) and as you might imagine it was betty swollocks for seven hours in the 30 plus temperatures. As usual there was a few offs with poor old RS1000 Aprilia mounted Andy breaking his femur early in the day. Two other buddies appeared to swap bikes mid air in another incident but fortunately escaped unhurt. In the evening everyone stayed for an al fresco dinner in the paddock with the craic going on for hours as the Fosters kept flowing. All in all it was a brilliant trip and it has left me thinking there could be cost effective ways of getting Brits out there for track days next winter. I'll keep you posted.Cape Town next to make my racing comeback at the Killarney 8 hour on a CBR150 Honda. Hopefully I can manage the beast, I'll post a full report next week.
Who To Watch In AMA Pro Superbike This Weekend
Tue, 11 Mar 2014Photo: Brian J. Nelson Even though reigning AMA Pro Superbike champ Josh Herrin has left the series to try his hand in the Moto2 series, the Superbike field is still filled deep with talent heading into this weekend’s series opening round at Daytona. Here are just a few names to keep an eye on this weekend.
