1971 Honda Cb 750 Sohc Super Rare Undisturbed Survivor Mortorcyle (barn Find) on 2040-motos
Honda CB tech info
Honda CB description
Okay, this may be quite a "barn find". We recently found this bike in a garage/pole barn in Fort Wayne, Indiana after a friend of the family's brother died and he inherited this motorcycle and other vehicles in the building. We are specialty engine machine shop and know little about antique motorcycles. However, I did a Ebay search under 1971 CB 750 and quickly realized this bike has some good value as an antique collector bike. We have simply been asked to sell the bike for the family friend.
I am starting the bid price less than any other 1970's CB 750 for sale on Ebay to ensure this bike sells and giving any potential buyer the opportunity to get a value buy or wholesale price as an investment for resale. The VIN tag shows a build date of 5/1971 and from what we have researched, it appears to be a CB750 Four K1 with the correct #s matching CB750E coded engine.
I think that this bike will be a good buy for a collector for these reasons:
1) 750cc SOHC Engine CB750E-1095831 appears to be the #s matching original OEM motor that belongs to this bike's frame and VIN, according to our research.
2) The bike has been untouched and not plated or driven since 1982. In other words, it has been parked in storage untouched for the past 33 years.
3) It appears to have all the original patina and looks bone OEM stock to us, although again we are not bike experts.
4) The odometer reads only 21,246 miles and I suspect these are actual original miles considering it has not been driven for more than 30 years.
5) The bike appears to have all the original manufactures stickers, tags, etc still on the bike, along with the OEM #s matching engine.
6) The bike's chrome, body, and all other areas appear to be in surprising good condition for bike of this age. There is very little surface rust on the bike, and where present it appear light surface rust--should come out with an SOS pad.
7) Selling NO RESERVE!
You may pick this bike up or we can ship it via semi-truck anywhere in the USA for under $500.00 freight. We can also ship this motorcycle anywhere world-wide by sea container for around $1000.00, maybe less.
Call Jerry or message through Ebay with any questions you may have. We have not tried to start the bike but think that with an afternoons worth of work that it could be started up. However, the bike is sold "AS IS" . NO RESERVE!!!!!!!
NOTE:
There is a small dent on the left side of the gas tank and the Honda emblem is missing on the same left side.
NEW INFORMATION:
A very helpful fellow Ebayer gave us this information about the bike after we had listed the bike on Ebay with the above description:
"Just
to let you know, the bike has the wrong exhaust and rear wheel has
been laced to a Harley rim. Common alteration for the 70's. Good luck
with the sale. Kurt"

2014 Honda CTX700 Recalled in Canada for ABS Issue
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Transport Canada announced a recall for the new Honda CTX700 because of a manufacturing error in its anti-lock braking system. The Canadian recall applies to both the CTX700N and the partially-faired CTX700T (known simply as the Honda CTX700 in the U.S. market and other markets.) According to the recall notice, the ABS modulator may have been manufactured incorrectly and could potentially fail, allowing the front and/or rear wheels to lock up under heavy braking, increasing the risk of a crash.

Thu, 09 Sep 2010This remarkable shot of Eddie Lawson is taken by Rich Chenet. It was August 1980 and Lawson was undergoing a titanic scrap for the AMA title with Wes Cooley and Freddie Spencer here at Pocono Raceway in Philladelphia. The circuit is known as the 'Tricky Triangle' amongst the NASCAR drivers but the superbikes used a mix of infield and sections of the banked circuit.
