Honda CB description

Early in 2013 I came across 2 beautiful early 1970 CB750s. They were in a deceased estate collection in California. There were originally three bikes - Candy Blue Green, Candy Red and Candy Gold, Sadly the Gold bike was sold, but I managed to buy the other two. The two bikes are within 122 VIN numbers apart meaning they were either made on the same day, or a day apart. I imported the two bikes and have had them both in my collection. They were both in superb condition and must have been restored at some point in their lives. The Candy Red bike is up for sale here, and it's simply STUNNING. I have decided to thin the collection and offer this bike up. The bike has 44552 miles on the clock, which I believe is genuine. The compression is good and the bike runs beautifully. It is truly magnificent to look at and whenever I take it out there is always a crowd. The bike is currently registered under the cheap Historic Vehicle scheme. I have just changed the oil and oil filter and replaced the engine bolts as some were not genuine. It also has a new toolkit, and new battery. The exhaust system is stamped HM300 which is correct and is new. There is absolutely nothing to do to this bike, other than enjoy it. You may well have noticed that these CB750s are very scarce now, its seldom they come up for sale, here or in the US. This is the first year bike, which is the most valuable. This bike is a matched numbers bike, the VIN is CB750-1029712 and the Engine number is CB750E - 1029809. I have the bike in Lane Cove (Sydney) if you'd like to view it. Just give me a call and we can chat. The bike is worth this money so I am not very flexible on the price, so please don't engage if you are looking to low-ball me. These bikes continue to go up and up in value, and they don't come much better than this example. Thanks for looking...

The Japanese oddity to naming teams

Wed, 28 Jul 2010

Whenever the calendar shifts to a major Japanese race, such as the Suzuka 8hr, one of the more amusing things to do is glance down the team sheet This years highlight for me has to be team Moto Bum, with other stand outs including aprilia D.D.BOYS, Team Etching Factory Yamaha and MITO MOTO & e'freaks Honda. Looking back through the ages some of the great Japanese team names have been Burning Blood Racing Team, Dog Fight Racing and Team Moto Space amongst others. Valentino Rossi is back on the podium. Not a MotoGP podium, mind, but for a rally car race at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. (Post updated with video.) Driving a Ford Fiesta RS with co-driver Carlo Cassina, Rossi won two of nine stages and finished second overall to eight-time World Rally Car Champion Sebastien Loeb at the 2011 Monza Rally Show.
