Honda CB description

1967 Honda Black Bomber in excellent original condition, except gas tank and headlight bucket have been re-painted. VIN # CB450-1017144. Engine # CB450E-1014945. Currently, the working odometer shows 9297 miles.

l bought the bike from a VJMC member in 2010. Immediately after I got the bike, I cleaned and rebuilt carburetors with all new seals and tuned it up to excellent running condition. I then stored it in my climatised walk-out basement and changed oil yearly. Due to the need to fund other motorcycle restoration projects, I will have to let go of this rare bike. This summer, I pulled it out from storage, cleaned out gas tank and carburetors, changed oil, adjusted and lubricated all cables, installed a brand new battery and the bike started right up. Inside gas tank is in original clean condition. During storage, the left engine side has developped an occasional drop of oil. After I rode the bike, the oil drop seems to seal up (my CB77 bike also has same oil dropping from storage but completely seals up after I pulled it out from storage and rode it regularly).

All mechanical and electrical (all lights, horn) work as they should. Bike starts with 1 or 2 kick or with electrical starter. It runs very strong like a CB450 should and throttles up and down with no hesitation. Clutch and gears all work great. Being a 46 year old bike, it does have the "patina" of a few paint scratches and small dings at close up with 1 - 2 feet. Noteworthy imperfections are a 2-inch tear on top of seat (was there when I got the bike). Other than the unfortunate tear, the seat material and texture are in such beautiful condition so I leave the seat cover as is. Each exhaust pipe has one small ding. The left exhaust pipe also has some stain mark that I have not tried hard to get it out. Other than that, pipe chrome is shiny. The picture of the odometer chrome ring has some distortion. The chrome ring is in perfect  original condition. Paint on frame, fenders and covers is in nice condition.

Please use the zoom in feature to look at the condition of the bike in close up. I have not over done on the cleaning for fear of removing the light and charming patina the bike has added here and there over its 9000+ miles. I also wish not to pass it on a garage queen and hope the next owner will take it out for rides more often than I was able to. The bike can shine even more if that 's what the next owner wants it to look like. Please do not expect that this is a perfect mint condition Black Bomber just out of dealer show room. It is a 46 year old bike which has been lovingly cared for. Overall, it has preserved very well its most original and shiny condition. I have accordingly set a very reasonable reserve. My wife loves the Black Bomber the most and believes it will go up in value when it reaches its 50 year anniversary in 1.5 years so no spouse pressure to sell if reserve is not met.

I have clear open title from the State of Ohio signed by previous owner. The title has Buyer name left blank for the next owner to fill in. The tank emblems pictured on the bike will be replaced with the original set of CB450 emblem as shown on the last picture. The steering column lock works with the same ignition key. The bike will come with three spare keys.

The bike is sold as is and where is with no warranty. Winner of bid is required to make a paypal payment of non-refundable $500 within three days from end of auction and pay the remaining balance within 10 days. Method of payment for remaining balance will be discussed. I will not release title nor the bike until I can 100% confirm I have cash in my hand. Buyer is responsible to pick up the bike where it is stored. I can store it in my basement up to 30days from end of bid to allow Buyer to make arrangement for pick up transportation. Please do not hesitate to ask should you have any question. Thank you for selecting my Honda Black Bomber to bid on.
