Honda CA description

This classic little scooter was left in Aunt Nina's shed, high and dry, out on the back hill, for many years. Most of it was there, and in fairly good condition.

So...  we spent a lot of time and money getting it back to looking good, and running great. Had lots of fun, rode it a few times. Took a 2nd place, Antique Class, at the York PA, White Rose Thunder Bike Show, 2014. The cylinder was honed and a new piston & ring installed. The new carbs that you can buy on ebay, that are supposed to fit these bikes, don't. Not on these early models. So the original was rebuilt, using some parts from the new carb. The choke and fuel shut off are original and work fine.

The front fender and knee guard are re-pops. Plastic. Very hard to keep paint on the front fender. Done twice, it is starting to lift again at the lower base.
The knee guard has cracked at the top just above the chrome air intake box.

Handlebar grips are original as is the kicker rubber. Footrest rubbers are replacements. Original turn signal lenses, cracked. I don't think these were ever functional.
Nice new chrome exhaust pipe and muffler on it now. Two new tires. Front rim is new, rear one is original with some rust spots., Spokes look pretty good. Brakes work well.

The rear shocks have been replaced and the seat has a nice new "Honda" logo seat cover. The seat pan is an original blue one. Odometer shows 2329 miles.
I never looked down to see if it still works.

As you know, there are not a lot of these, Nifty, Thrifty, Honda 50's, still around in good running condition.
If you like this one, check our feedback & bid with confidence.
If necessary, AFTER the scooter is paid for, I will help with shipping, you make arrangements. OR, I can put it in my van and deliver it for $1 per mile.
Thanks for looking.  I'm working on the photos.

Honda's latest Cub

Fri, 18 May 2012

Honda released their original C100 Super Cub way back in 1958 when other bikes at the time proved to be notoriously unreliable and difficult to ride. Since then, they have sold over 27 million C90s, with the step-through framed bike proving to be easy to ride and even easier to maintain. Looking like it's come straight from the film WALL-E, the new UNI-CUB might have two wheels but any similarity with a Honda C90 ends there.

Isle of Man TT 2013: Sure Sidecar Race 2 Results

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Brothers Ben and Tom Birchall rebounded from a disappointing finish to the first Sure Sidecar race with a solid victory in their second race of the 2013 Isle of Man TT. The Birchall brothers had the early lead in the first race but were forced to retire on the first lap after puncturing a tire. Their second race went much better however, as they led from start to finish for their first ever win at the Isle of Man.
