Honda Valkyrie description

  •  2004 Honda RUNE,

  •  Approximately 3000 RUNES were built at the Marysville, Ohio plant between 2004 and 2005.The RUNE was a proof-of-concept project with advanced technical features. The RUNE is a head-turner wherever it goes and a pleasure to ride.   This bike is number 448 of the lot and comes with a rare "RUNE Leather/Steel Factory Book *& CD's" that were given out with some of the bikes. The RUNE has a Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S.) and extra security coded ignition keys. This RUNE was purchased directly from the Honda Dealer in Tennessee. All of the 3200 miles are road miles. The bike has been HOUSE kept and carefully maintained. Call or text Perry at 408 234 4466 for more information.

  • The story of the Rune is as much about flesh and blood emotion as it is about a chrome and steel motorcycle. One simply would not exist without the other. To aspire is human, but to actually convince a Japanese manufacturing empire to produce a bike as shamelessly stylistic as the Rune, well, that would've been impossible without the fire of a few strong-willed leaders on the North American side of the business, fueled by a country filled with people like you and me who prefer their motorcycles as stunningly beautiful as they are usefully efficient.

Joey Dunlop on a V4 Honda at the '83 TT

Fri, 28 Sep 2012

Onboard video footage doesn't get a lot better than this: Joey Dunlop during practice at the TT in 1983 onboard a factory Honda RS850R. An 859cc ultra-short stroke V4 Honda that Joey mastered around The Island, later winning the TT Formula 1. Although the 'production' race, the RS850R stretched that to the limit.

Back when GPs were really good: Part 2

Rossi versus Gibernau at Brno in 2003. Most of the time Rossi and Gibernau came together, it was a classic in the making but while Rossi on the factory Honda hunting down Gibernau on the satellite Honda is well worth watching, the threat of a looming Bayliss on the Ducati makes this one even better. Gibernau, fresh from a win in Germany at the previous round - having beaten Rossi to the line by 0.060 seconds - was full of fight.

2013 AIMExpo: Skidbike

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

One of the most inventive devices seen at this week’s AIMExpo is the Skidbike, a novel creation that helps teach riders the skills to balance and to master threshold braking. It’s a Swedish/American invention originally designed to educate riders how to sufficiently apply brakes to avoid an accident without the danger of tipping over and causing injuries. It uses an electrically operated hydraulic ram built on a hinged dolly to reduce front-tire grip, which drastically reduces speeds when traction is lost so riders can learn how to use the brakes effectively.
