2006 Honda Vtx 1300R, 2006 Honda VTX1300 in great condition. 1300cc V-twin, four stroke, two cylinder, carburetor, shaft drive, disk brakes. Bike has less than 13,000 miles. This is the Retro model with classic oversized, retro fenders and spoke wheels. The VTX series has a muscular looking body, it is quite long and low to the ground featuring significant rake and trail. The bike comes with a removable windshield, Mustang seat with rider back rest. It also has floor boards which is really handy on longer rides. Additionally I have upgraded the passenger seat/sissy bar. It has removable bags for distance/overnight travel. I had shared my impressions of some of the upgrades to the new Wing in blog posts earlier in the week (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3), but these focused mostly on some comfort and convenience updates and the bike’s ability to eat up open stretches of pavement. But on this day we put the Wing to a completely different test: the Tail of the Dragon, US 129 in North Carolina.

AMA Pro Flat Track Stars to Face Off in Ride Academy “Race of Legends”
Fri, 12 Apr 2013When the AMA Flat Track stars of today compete at the spring Springfield Mile, May 26 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, they will be joined by the stars of the past, taking part in the “Ride of Legends“. Hosted by the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association and Ride Academy, a riding school founded by multiple Grand National race winner Mike Hacker, the “Ride of Legends” exhibition race will feature several other past Grand National event winners racing each other on Honda dirt bikes. Joining Hacker will be Jay Springsteen, Joe Kopp, Rich King, Ronnie Jones, Steve Beattie, Steve Moorehead and Chris Carr.
