EICMA 2013: Returning 2014 Honda Models Announced

Along with an all-new CTX1300 and CBR1000RR SP announced at the 2013 EICMA show, Honda announced several more models returning for 2014 with some minor updates and new color options. Several of these models, such as the 500 series and the Gold Wing F6B were only introduced last year, so they receive just a palette update, while other models like the NC700X return with minor tweaks. Nilox, the action camera sponsor for World Superbike, makes it a point to film an on-board lap of each track on the calendar before each race weekend. A few weeks ago we brought you footage of Giuliano Rovelli lapping a Honda CBR1000RR SP around Assen. This week Rovelli is back, this time aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R, giving us a rapid tour of Imola, the track made famous by the tragic passing of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna 20 years ago, and also by the legendary battle between Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards in 2002 which decided the championship.

Casey Stoner's decision to retire at the end of the season has had a real shake-up for the Repsol Honda line-up along with the discussion, rumour and speculation of who will take his vacated seat for next season. With silly season occurring much earlier following Stoner's announcement at the French GP in May, rumours and speculation have been banded around with three candidates leading the way: Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Lorenzo, until he was confirmed to stick with Yamaha for another two seasons, was the most plausible of the trio as both himself and Casey are the top two riders in the world right now, making him the obvious choice after the Australian departs.
