INTRODUCED WITH THE 2002 MODEL YEAR, IT WAS ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS THAT THE VTX QUICKLY BECAME ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR CRUISERS IN AMERICA. WITH ITS COMBINATION OF GOOD LUCKS, UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNTS OF POWER AND BULLETPROOF RELIABILITY, IT HAD THE PERFECT FORMULA FOR WHAT MADE A PERFECT BIKE.

WITH A TRUE 1800CC ENGINE, THIS MOTOR IS A BRUTE. YOU KNOW THOSE CARS YOU BUY TODAY WITH 1.6 LITER ENGINES? WELL AN 1800CC ENGINE IS A 1.8 LITER ENGINE. THAT'S RIGHT. THIS BIKE HAS A BIGGER MOTOR THAN A HONDA CIVIC, YET AT ONLY 720 POUNDS WET, WEIGHS 1/4TH AS MUCH.

COMPARED TO A CAR, THIS BIKES 120 HORSE POWER AND 100 LB FEET OF TORQUE MAY SEEM FAIRLY MODEST, BUT WHEN YOU TAKE ITS RELATIVELY LIGHT WEIGHT INTO CONSIDERATION, YOU HAVE A FORMULA THAT PUTS THIS CRUISER SQUARELY IN SUPERCAR PERFORMANCE TERRITORY.  AS A STOCK MOTORCYCLE FROM THE FACTORY, THE VTX 1800 WILL RUN THE 1/4 MILE IN JUST OVER 12 SECONDS AND SPRINTS TO 60 MPH IN JUST OVER 3.

NOW ALL THIS MIGHT ADD UP TO SEEM LIKE A WILD BIKE WITH UNRULY ROAD MANNERS, BUT IT'S HARDLY THE CASE. IN FACT, THE VTX 1800 IS CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE AND EASY TO MANAGE BIKES ON THE ROAD FOR. WITH A LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY AND WELL ENGINEERED LAYOUT AND CONTROLS, EVERYTHING FALLS NICELY IN PLACE FOR AN EXHILARATING BUT COMPLETELY CONTROLLED EXPERIENCE ON THE OPEN ROAD.

ADD IN THE BULLETPROOF RELIABILITY OF THIS HONDA MOTORCYCLE, ELECTRIC START, DIGITAL GAUGES, 50 MPG ECONOMY, WATER COOLED ENGINE AND RELIABLE DRIVESHAFT DRIVEN DRIVETRAIN, AND IT TRULY IS THE PERFECT MOTORCYCLE, AND AT A FRACTION OF IT'S ORIGINAL $14,000 PRICE TAG.
