Honda Shadow description

I have had this bike for 2,5 years and there was only one owner before me. This is an amazingly beautiful and unique bike with lots of custom parts: custom handlebar, seat, blinkers/lights, foot pegs and cobra pipes (loud!). Looks and sounds like a Harley. Awesome custom flame paint job on the tank. I get compliments for this beauty every single day.

It has 3 minor dents in the tank and the seat is not fixed in the front which does not impair riding quality and can easily be fixed. The bike runs and drives absolutely impeccable and I just got new brakes and a new battery. Clean title, registration until June 2014.

It's breaking my heart to sell my beloved baby, but I have recently started to commute between LA and Las Vegas and I need a car for that.

This listing will be taken off once the buyer has looked at the bike and paid me in full (cash or cashier's check).

The bike can come with (original Harley Davidson) saddle bags or without. I have posted a picture of both situations.

Thanks for looking!

EICMA 2013: 2014 Honda VFR800F

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Gracing the new 2014 VFR800F is traction control, ABS, heated grips, adjustable seat height and self-canceling blinkers. The V-Four-powered machine has been re-tuned  for greater low and mid-range torque, and also receives a new telescopic fork, Pro-arm swingarm, wheels, new, slimmer bodywork and styling. Starting with the 782cc V4-VTEC engine, Honda engineers focused mainly on cam timing and valve duration/overlap to increase low-to midrange power and torque, claiming 104.5 hp @ 10,250 rpm and 55.4 ft-lbs of torque @ 8,500 rpm. Bore and stroke is 72mm x 48mm, with compression ratio of 11.8:1. VTEC valve timing still operates one pair of inlet/exhaust valves per cylinder at low rpm, and then switches to four as revs rise. Honda’s single-mode Traction Control System (TCS) is fitted as standard equipment and is operated from the left handlebar.

Mick Doohan NSR500 art sculpture

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

How do you best immortalise the great Mick Doohan and the big bang Honda NSR500 with which he dominated Grand Prix racing in the 90s? An Australian artist has answered this by creating an art installation that sees a hand-created replica of the bike exploded and suspended from the ceiling. The Doohan piece is appropriately titled 'The Big Bang' and as artist Eamon O'Tootle describes, "It is a complex sculpture comprising thousands of parts joining to make up a whole and symbolic tribute to the true inherent nature of art and sport – the creativity of design, where the mechanical is modified to suit the needs of man." Eamon added: "The way the Doohan piece came about was that one of the bikes Mick rode had an engine configuration called the Big Bang.
