Honda Shadow description

2013 Honda Shadow RS, CALL 888-334-5580 AND ASK FOR ERIK HARDIN!2013 Honda Shadow RSCruiser Style + Roadster Cool = Instant ClassicYep, believe your eyes those are higher-set footpegs and shorter, more upright bars. So, how can this be a Shadow cruiser, you ask? Oh it s all Shadow, just with a heavy dose of old-school roadster thrown in you don t have to look too hard to see the classic flat-track influences in the peanut-shaped fuel tank and flatter seat. It all adds up to an amazing motorcycle that s just as much at home on a favorite back road as it is prowling on a Saturday night. And that means fun, with a capital F. Great Ideas Never Go Out of StyleThe Honda Shadow RS is proof that classic ideas never go out of style. Agile and responsive, this V-twin roadster has crisp, uncluttered lines and standard-style riding ergonomics that deliver comfort and cool and plenty of fun in one distinctive package. The bike s higher pegs improve ground clearance when cornering, while its sophisticated, PGM-FI fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 745cc V-twin engine makes every ride an unforgettable pleasure.745cc V-twin EngineThe Shadow RS's liquid-cooled, 745cc V-twin produces impressive, perfect-for-cruising-or-commuting power across the entire rpm range, while its long-stroke crankshaft design helps create a brawny V-twin pulse and low-rpm torque.Five-Speed TransmissionWide-ratio five-speed transmission lets you cruise the boulevard at a low, unhurried pace, yet lets you hop on the highway without revving the engine through the roof.Handlebar-Mounted InstrumentsPutting the speedometer and the other instruments up on the handlebar in a single, uncluttered gauge gives the RS a sporty, purposeful, super-clean look. It also makes them easy to read!Upright Seating PositionWith the Shadow RS, you sit low, but a bit more upright, and the footpegs are a little further back. The result? A bike that offers all-day-long comfort, and one that's practical too, letting you see what's going on around you.Chain Final DriveSome riders just think a classic cruiser needs a chain. The Shadow RS hears you there. The chain is light and efficient and best of all, it just looks right, and helps set your Shadow RS apart.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.

Honda Reminds Us It's Working On A New Hornet

Mon, 06 Jun 2022

Expect the production model at EICMA in November One of the biggest surprises at the 2021 EICMA show last November was the news Honda is working on a new Hornet model. At its booth in Milan, Honda presented a sculpture with an elaborate light show projecting a hint at what to expect from the new Hornet. In the six months following EICMA, however, there has been very little, er, “buzz”, coming from Honda.

The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.
