1999 Honda Shadow VT600/CD. Excellent condition, only ridden occasionally. Modified bobber runs great and includes new tires, two solo seats (steel and leather), velocity stack from TJ Brutal Customs, carb jet kit from 6 Sigma, wrapped exhaust with drilled baffles for a bit more rumble, new stainless steel clutch and throttle cables, and mini apes. To get a cleaner look around the handlebars, I pulled speedometer off bike last summer with 10,500 miles. Still have most original parts I pulled while bobbing bike out. Mon, 14 Oct 2013Honda Project Leader Shunji Yokokawa's first Honda bike was a CB900, which he got when he was a teenager after seeing Freddie Spencer wheeling his way down the Laguna's Corkscrew.Yokokawa has been in the States himself recently, having travelled to the Bonneville Salt Flats to break a world land speed record for a stock 600cc motorcycle.According to the Southern California Timing Association website (you'd have thought the video might have mentioned something about the record?), Shunji was successful in his attempt during August's 'Speed Week', setting an official speed of 170.828mph onboard a CBR600RR.
Honda is recalling over 20,000 Shadows in the US
Fri, 29 Jan 2016Honda is recalling 22,142 motorcycles from shipments produced between 2010 and 2016. The reason was the vibration from the engine, which over time leads to chafing of the fall sensor wire in the common harness. Dealers promise to move the wire to another location and replace the sensor free of charge.
Helmet Law Upheld in Ontario
Tue, 16 Jun 2009A Sikh in Ontario, Canada, has lost his challenge to the $110 ticket he received back in September 2005 for not wearing a helmet while riding his Honda Shadow. Baljinder Badesha, 39, claims the Ontario helmet law is “100 per cent” discrimination no matter what the safety issues are when riding without a helmet. We cannot put anything over the turban, it is against our religion. Mr. Badesha said outside court.
