1998 Honda ST1100 Pan European
Up for sale here is an amazingly clean and original 1998 Honda ST1100 Pan European. If you are looking at this ad you probably know that these bikes are amazingly comfortable, smooth, and built to go over 200,000 miles. Don't spend $20,000 on a new BMW. These old ST's may be the most versatile and nimble sport tourer's ever built! Don't let the mileage scare you!!! This one is just getting broken in with 61,000 miles and just about everything on it is original. All the fairings are in great condition and intact, all electrics work, 12volt socket for heated gear, front auxiliary lights with lighted switch, twist lock bar end cruise control, Sargent seat, factory rear seat rest and rear cargo rack included (does not come with top case). Sale includes original Honda tool kit! Includes factory removable/lockable side cases (one of the locks binds but two locks per case). These bikes have a massive 7 gallon tank and I would not hesitate to drive it from Boston to San Diego tomorrow! This bike has been lovingly maintained throughout it's life. It has always been serviced and had the timing belt replaced 10,000 miles ago. Still has factory exhaust. I don't think you will find a cleaner ST1100 out there. The tires on the bike are on their last season and have some choppiness. For a perfect road feel I would have them changed now or over the winter though there is still plenty of tread left. This isn't a result of an alignment issue, rather from being commuted with on straight highway stretches and weighing in at 650lbs dry. Other than that, the pictures speak for themselves! Check out Rewind Motorworks feedback! We take pride in writing honest ads and getting you exactly what you bid on!! Please feel free to ask any questions and will typically respond within two hours! DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE!!!! Here are the specifications:
The ST1100 was optimized for long-distance touring with the following features: 28 l (7.4 US gallon) fuel tank, one of the largest ever supplied for a motorcycle, giving it a range of about 300 highway miles (480 km)Please read ad fully before bidding and ask questions! The bike is 18 years old but ridden and started daily! These Honda's are good for 200,000 miles and beyond and still looks modern and relevant and has plenty of power for long days of two up riding!! Because of it's age, this ST1100 comes with no written or implied warranty but at Rewind Motorworks we pride ourselves on selling the cleanest bikes possible and try to be as detailed as possible with our photographs and our descriptions! All bids are final and legally binding. Please only bid if you are 18 years or older and have the funds and intentions of purchasing this vehicle. Thank you for your business! Bike is located in Acton, Massachusetts and buyer is responsible for shipping fees. Seth (Rewind Motorworks) |

Top box trauma
Wed, 24 Nov 2010I've struggled with my Honda hard luggage over the past few months, I have to admit. To much office hilarity (and piss taking) I managed to lose the top box just a few miles from the office. I thought the locating mechanism was fastened securely but the first rapid getaway from the first set of traffic lights on Upper Street proved me wrong. It was at least a mile before I noticed that my top box was absent.
Surely more wins are on the cards for Seeley and the 2011 Gixer?
Thu, 02 Jun 2011The amazing Alex Lowes is deservedly grabbing all the attention in the BSB paddock at the moment, but I believe last year’s top Superbike rookie, Alistair Seeley is doing an equally impressive job in the Supersport class. Although he looks ten years younger, thirty one year old Seeley is riding one of only two 2011 600 GSXRs (fellow countryman Marty Nutt is on the other) in the class. Alistair has finished on the podium four times including a race win at the opening Brand Hatch round and currently lies second in the championship. He also took victory on the Gixer in the only race run at the North West 200 last month and was looking like the runaway winner last Sunday at Thruxton until electrical gremlins struck after opening up a seven second lead.
Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
