Winter Project!

This was my first bike. The previous owner beat it up very badly and when I got it I slowly started to make it look nice again. I replaced almost all the body panels and had them all painted. Various other parts have been replaced and repaired including carbs, radiator, wiring harness and much more. The bike needs work in the motor department. About two years ago I went to fire it up in the fall and it just wouldn't go. It backfired through the carbs and never turned over for me. I pulled the engine and re-did all of my valve clearances as well as engine timing. I also re-seated all of the valves while I was in there. Put it all back together and had the same symptom. At this point I really have no idea what is wrong with it. If you can fix it, then you may have found yourself a great deal. May deliver if you are close enough.

No expressed warranty. Bike does NOT run and requires work.

Classic corner: Phillip Island turn 12

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

Ask any racer what corners they would choose for their perfect track and the long swooping left that makes up the final corner of Phillip Island would appear on quite a few designs. Here the Honda World Superbike riders Jonathan Rea and Hiroshi Aoyama, along with technician Chris Pike and Pirelli's Giorgio Barbier detail the classic corner from the Australian track.

Motorcycle Gymkhana: The Perfect Use For A Helmet-Mounted Swivel Camera – Video

We’ve posted motorcycle gymkhana videos before, but this takes the production value up just a notch with the camera mounted on a swivel on the rider’s helmet! In case you aren’t familiar with this form of motorcycle competition, the course is generally set in a large parking lot type setting and is marked with cones. But this isn’t your basic rider course.

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Mon, 28 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
