Overall Condition:

Runs very good, looks nice. I repainted it when I bought it a Mazda Graphite Metallic color on the upper panels and a Honda Silver on the lower panels. The clear coat has worn off, so the scooter could use a repaint. The scooter presents itself well.

The Good:

Legendary Honda reliability even at 26,000 miles on the odometer
Plenty of power for the city as well as the back roads. Top speed ~70mph, but it is happy around 60 - 65 mph
~60 mpg. Could do better with some tuning
Lots of storage in the factory trunk and the aftermarket top case.
Tires with plenty of tread remaining
Good brakes. New shoes in rear drum.
New centrifugal clutch with stiffer contra-spring for faster ratio increase
New variator and weights
Crystal clear windshield

The Bad:

Clear coat worn
Seat painted with Dupli-Color vinyl paint but has started to chip
Missing front shock covers
Some body panels have minor cracks visible when examined closely.

Nicky Hayden Makes Aspar Team Debut Testing Honda RCV1000R

American racer Nicky Hayden made his first appearance with the Aspar Team, testing the Honda RCV1000R production racer at the official MotoGP post-season test at Spain’s Valencia circuit. Hayden completed 76 laps on the RCV1000R, posting a top lap time of 1:32.576, putting him 13th on the time sheet. The test time was 0.188 seconds faster than his top lap time in Sunday’s race at Valencia on the Ducati Desmosedici.

Honda to Unveil Electric Sportbike Concept at Tokyo Motor Show

Honda is set to unveil seven electric-powered concept vehicles at the upcoming 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, including a sportbike that has piqued our interest. According to Honda, the RC-E concept is a version of a sportbike that “pursues the joy of riding.” Honda says the RC-E will offer a powerful and smooth ride unique to an EV model and features a 250cc-class compact body. We’ll provide more details of the RC-E concept as they become available.

They take an old Honda Rebel 250 and customize the frame to accommodate the electric motor and batteries, they claim the conversion should take about two to three days to complete, the batteries will take about 5-8 hours to charge and will give you a top speed of 45 mph.
