Honda Other description
1984 HONDA GYRO THREE WHEEL SCOOTER
THIS IS A VERY UNIQUE AND RARE SCOOTER PRODUCED ONLY FOR THREE YEARS STARTING IN 1984 AND ENDING IN 1986. THERFORE NOT MANY ARE STILL AROUND AND RUNNING. IT HAS A 50CC OIL INJECTION TWO STRKE ENGINE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TWO SPPED TRANMISSION. WHEN TURNING THE BIKE, THEY COMBINE A TRICYCLE'S STOPPED & LOW-SPEED STABILITY WITH A LEANING MAIN-BODY FOR STABILITY WHILE TURNING AT SPEED. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH A LOCKING PARKING BRAKE SEEN TO THE LEFT OF THE KEY. IT WILL ALSO LOCK THE BIKE IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. NO KICKSTAND OF THIS REASON. THE HONDA GYRO IS A FAMILY OF SMALL, THREE-WHEELED MOTORCYCLES SOLD PRIMARILY IN JAPAN, AND OFTEN USED FOR DELIVERY OR EXPRESS SERVICE. HONDA HAS BUILT SEVEN VEHICLES WITH THIS CONFIGURATION. THE FIRST STREAM WAS INTRODUCED IN 1981, FOLLOWED CLOSELY BY THREE OTHER PERSONAL TRANSPORT VERSIONS, THE JOY, JUST, AND ROAD FOX. ALL WERE SHORT-LIVED, BUT THE CARGO-ORIENTED GYRO LINE BEGUN IN 1982 FOUND A READY MARKET, WITH ALL THREE VARIANTS STILL IN PRODUCTION IN 2015. THIS BIKE HAS A TITLE IN MY NAME. IT RUNS GREAT AND GOES ABOUT 30-35 MILES PER HOUR ON FLAT GROUND WITH ME ON IT (240LBS). THIS IS A GUESS DUE TO THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING. I CHECKED THE CABLE AND WHEEL HUB AND THEY ARE WORKING FINE. SO I CONCLUDED IT IS THE SPEEDOMETER. IT HAS THREE BRAND NEW MICHELIN TIRES, A NEW YUASSA BATTERY FROM HONDA, A NEW AIR CLEANER, AND NEW SPARK PLUG. THE HEAD LIGHT, TAIL LIGHT, GAS GAUGE, AS WELL AS THE HORN WORK. THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS ARE MISSING SO THE TURN SIGNAL COMES ON BUT DO NOT BLINK. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO WIRE THEM UP FOR THE REARS ONLY TO WORK. THE GAS TANK AND TWO STROKE OIL CONTAINER ARE LOCATED UNDER THE SEAT. THE SEAT LOCK HAS BEEN BROKEN BUT I HAVE PUT A LEVER ON IT. IT EXTENDS OUT OF THE HOLE WITH A SLIGHT BEND AND WORKS FIND TO ACCESS THE SEAT. I WILL ADD A PICTURE LATER. THERE IS A CRACK IN THE BODY JUST IN FRONT OF THE LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL. LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS. I HAVE DISCRIBED THE BIKE AS BEST AS I CAN. I DON'T THINK I MISSED ANYTHING. CALL OR TEXT ME ANY QUESTIONS 626-664-5947. SHIPPING IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE ONLY TO THE LOWER 48 STATES. A $100 DEPOSIT IS DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE END OF THE AUCTION. IF YOU PLAN TO PAY IN FULL WITH PAYPAL YOU WILL BE RESPONSEABLE FOR THE 5% PAYPAL FEE. THE VIN NUMBER IS NOT ACCURATE ON THIS PAGE.
