Honda Other description

Hello,

I am selling my 1980 Honda CX500 custom, with 26,909 miles.

Fresh paint, new battery, new clubman bars, new headlight, tail light, and low-profile turn signals.
Fires right up with the choke pulled out, which it only needs for about 5 seconds. Idles smoothly and runs great thereafter. Shifts smoothly. Front brake squeaks (on my to-do list) but stops fine. Gauges work. One tiny tear in the seat, smaller that the width of my thumb.

It's a blast to ride. Exceptionally clean chrome and body. Cosmetically and mechanically in great shape, especially for a 33 year old bike! The carbs are tuned well. The boots from the engine to the carbs have cracks in them and could stand to be replaced, but it runs great as-is. I ride it regularly and will continue to with no reservations. It's a really solid and reliable bike.

I originally purchased this as my second bike; to turn into a cafe racer. I've replaced several things to style that way, and it doesn't have far to go to complete it. I'm selling now because I'm getting married and only have space for one bike.

I'm happy to answer any questions and take additional pictures. It's a great bike that will make a new owner very happy!

Local pickup only

Thanks.

Bradl learns Laguna on a 'Blade

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

As neither the 125GPs or the Moto2 classes race at Laguna Seca, Stefan Bradl smartly used his time between the Le Mans and Catalunya Grand Prixs to learn the California track and the Corkscrew ahead of the US GP on July 29th. Riding a loaned Fireblade from Honda America, the German took the to undulating circuit on a trackday, reportedly passing other riders very politely - watch a small glimpse of him here. “Moto2 and Moto3 don’t race at Mazda Raceway so we thought it was a good idea to have a first taste of this tight and twisty circuit." said the 2011 Moto2 champion said.

Get On Africa: Blog One

Wed, 06 Apr 2011

It's not every day you get to bomb around a field that was set aside for The Pope but that's exactly what we've done this morning; the first proper day of our Get On Africa adventure. We started the morning at the Riders for Health workshop where the mechanics took us through their setup and maintenance program for their bikes. The celebs ran through the basics of bike maintainance, the mechanic boasted that bikes never come back to the workshop broken, they just come in for scheduled servicing.
