1980 Honda Cx Series 500 CUSTOM, I am selling my 1980 Honda cx500 custom. This is a v-twin water cooled bike with a shaft drive that I bought 4 years ago from the original owner after it had not been ridden for almost 20 years. It has, however, always been stored and parked indoors and is in very good condition. I went through everything on the bike that needed to be replaced including the mechanical water pump seal, fork seals and fork oil, new intake tubes, rebuilt the carbs, cleaned and sealed the gas tank w/POR15, new fuel tank valve, new original-style mufflers, new brakes front and rear, rebuilt front caliper and master cylinder, new Kenda Challenger tires front and rear. Paint is original and not perfect but still looks pretty good for it's age. Some minor road rash from previous owner. Seat is in excellent condition with no tears. Runs and sounds good with plenty of power and acceleration, even on the highway. No oil or antifreeze leaks. 19,150 miles. Inspected through Sept. 2013.
