THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! This auction is for a REALLY sweet 1970 Honda Z50A Mini Trail, VIN 307174. This is not a perfect museum piece, but HAS been painstakingly restored with lots of TLC. To start with, the engine has been totally rebuilt (bored first over, new piston and rings, valve job, automatic clutch totally gone through and adjusted, new points, engine cases and head beadblasted, all new seals and gaskets, etc) by a factory trained Honda mechanic with over 40 years of experience. You will actually have to BREAK THIS ENGINE IN (I’ve put about 10 minutes on the bike since rebuild)! The following have been replaced with either NOS or reproduction parts: steering bearings, seat (a stencil is included if you want to add the HONDA logo), wheel bearings, fork gaiters and bushings, wiring harness, front brake cable, front tire, rear brakes, headlight bulb, battery and strap, spark plug, drive chain, kickstand, dimmer switch, and of course, fresh oil. The following HARD TO FIND original parts are still on this bike: air cleaner, complete headlight and taillight assemblies, gas tank badges, chainguard, exhaust heat shield, battery box and rectifier, and factory muffler assembly. Mechanically, brakes work very well, automatic clutch is excellent, gearbox shifts great all through three gears, all lights work. Carb was completely rebuilt, bike starts on first or second kick and idles nicely. Cosmetically, there is some minor wear and tear, as to be expected – call it PATINA. The white spots in the photos are reflections. Since there is no speedometer the mileage is unknown. Fenders are nice but not perfect, some crinkles, no pitting. There is some slight acid staining on the rear fender and the headlight glass is cracked but headlight functions fine, high and low. Both handlebar tightening knobs work! The bike HAS been repainted. The gas tank is all original, very solid, clean and rust free inside, and was sealed for extra measure. There is about one drop of oil leaking, every few days, probably from shift shaft seal. This bike is all complete, here is a chance for you to OWN HISTORY! This bike deserves a great home to a young child hankering for his first bike, an old kid wanting to relive his youth, or someone wanting a REALLY cool pit bike. We try to accurately describe the shortcomings, but look at the photos and ask questions before bidding. Don’t bid if you intend to negotiate afterward; that is not how eBay works. I will provide a Bill of Sale if you would like one, there is no title. There aren’t a lot of these around anymore, so don’t miss your chance to own one! SHIPPING: Buyers to pay and arrange for shipping and crate, if necessary. Seller is willing to take bike to Sacramento, CA. for shipping via ForwardAir.com or other carrier of your choice, in Sacramento for $75.00 additional fee to cover our fuel and time. If you use Forward Air, they require you to supply 4 tie down straps and 2 combination locks. Please be prepared to provide this or whatever your shipper needs in order to secure your bike. Since this is a mini-motorcycle, you can actually use Forward Air’s smaller box, which costs less. Buyer can also pick up bike in Grass Valley, CA. Shipper damage coverage may be additional – check with the carrier you use! Please email me with any questions. I accept payment via PayPal – which takes Visa and MC. A $200 non-refundable deposit must be received in 2 days. Full payment must be received within 7 days. Serious inquiries only. Buy with confidence! We have sold many motorcycles over the years on ebay! Check our ratings and feedbacks - which are in the thousands! We have been selling on eBay since 1999 and have many happy repeat customers. Day 2 Dakar 2014: Sunderland Wins First Special Stage
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Honda won the second day of competition with Team HRC’s Sam Sunderland claiming victory in the first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Sunderland has had a frustrating time at previous Dakars, dropping out after three days of racing in 2012 and withdrawing a month before last year’s event due to fracturing both his wrists. Today, however, Sunderland made a grand entrance into the club of elite riders by brilliantly winning his first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Having started well behind his teammate, Joan Barreda, the 23-year old Brit superbly overtook Michael Metge and Juan Pedrero on the first part of the route.
