Honda Interceptor description
I still use this bike daily to commute and during day and weekend trips. It runs great and is has always been reliable. This is how I've been able to rack up 110,000 miles on this bike. Honda VFRs are known for their strong V4 engines and this one had never let me down. Mostly stock except it includes HeliBars, upgraded 2001 VFR Mirrors and frame sliders. Fairing has surface fading from many hours on the road. However, no cracks or significant scratches can be found on the fairing. Never been in an accident. The bike only fell over once in all the years. I was in a parking lot at Americade at Lake George, NY. Went to mount the bike and my knee bumped the saddlebag. It was a very slow tip over since I was able to hold the bike as it touch the ground. Ignore the miles and you will be pleasantly surprised by what you can get for the money. Luggage available for additional cost if interested. Bike is also listed locally. Thanks for looking.

NEW: Yoshimura ends cans for Honda CB1000R
Wed, 10 Feb 2010LEGENDARY JAPANESE tuning house Yoshimura has designed a series of slip-on performance end cans for Honda’s naked CB1000R.The brand new EEC-approved cans bolt straight onto the bike's exiting pipework and feature a stainless steel end cone and integral lower Yoshimura logoed cat-converter heat shield. Even with the dB-Killer baffle in place peak power is improved, as is mid-range torque with further performance gains available if the baffle is removed.A full race mid-pipe, extracting yet more power is on the way and will be available later in the year. The Yoshimura CB1000R Slip-On, including the supplied heat shield, is over 4kgs lighter than the OE item, the Carbon sleeve, even more so at just 4.65kg.Part Number/Sleeve Type/Weight/RRP including VAT1A0-480-5B50 Stainless Steel 2.61kg £712.711A0-480-5B80 Titanium 2.45kg £770.181A0-480-5B80B Titan Blue 2.45kg £850.651A0-480-5B90 Carbon 2.35kg £896.631A0-480-5B20 Metal Magic 2.61kg £793.17 Noise Output (decibels)Standard end can: 94dB @ 5,000rpmYoshimura EEC Slip-On: 94.5dB @ 5,000rpm(with db-killer in place)
Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba
Fri, 24 Jun 2011This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.
Pata Honda To Test ‘Speed Gene’ At Jerez
Tue, 01 Apr 2014This just in from the Pata Honda World Superbike team: The Pata Honda team has announced the introduction of a nepotistic youth policy designed to enhance development and ensure continuity of its world championship racing program. On tomorrow’s third and final day of the World Superbike championship test currently taking place at Jerez in Spain, regular riders Leon Haslam and Jonathan Rea will hand over their Honda CBR1000RR SP racing machines to their respective young sons. Despite being less than a year old, Max Haslam and Jake Rea are deemed to have inherited sufficient quantities of the so-called ‘speed gene’ to warrant a full test on the sophisticated production race bikes.
