Honda Interceptor description

I have a 1985 Honda VF1000R project that I have lost interest in.  I have title, but still in previous owners name. I have $1,200 into it, but would accept a 'Best Offer'.  Try me, you may be surprised.
If you are familiar with these bikes, you know how unique and advanced it was for 1985, but so heavy, it could not compete against the other race bikes of the time.
It might be worth more being parted out, but I dont want to mess with the effort that it would involve.  Comes with a service manual.

Not in running condition, but close. I have not performed a compression or leak down test.  Carbs have been rebuilt and installed.
Miles on ODO may not be representative of the bike, since it came in a box of parts when I bought it. Previous owner has several of these bikes, so ODO could have come from any other them.
Missing front plastics/fairing pieces and other misc bits.
Tank is solid with very light surface rust on inside, on spot welds.
Seat is in great condition and not faded.  No holes.
I do not have the bump-cushion for the rear cowl.

If you want a specific picture or have a question, please feel free to ask.

Thank you

A peppy mid-sized scrambler with plenty of range and iconic style, that is sure to attract new and seasoned riders alike Photographer Drew Ruiz Just when you thought Honda couldn’t possibly add something new and different to its middle-range moto lineup, it surprises us with a reiteration of a previous cult classic, the CL350, best known for paving the way for the Baja 1000 back in the 70’s. This modern version of the peppy lightweight scrambler has all the goodies of Honda’s current offerings, with all the style of the paired down desert racers of the past. 2023 Honda SCL500 The SCL500 is a mid-sized scrambler-style bike that is light, approachable with plenty of get up and go on the highways or in the canyons.

Gardner chilling out and taking it easy

Wed, 14 Jul 2010

Away from the pressures of being a Grand Prix racer in the days when fierce on-track battles and unexpected highsides were common place, Wayne Gardner throws a Honda VFR750F around Oran Park in Australia. The bike that Wayne is likely to be riding is special VFR750F, that was given the codename '6X'. The VFR was an experiment with prototype components including titanium valves and magnesium flat-slide carburetors, the result was the bike that weighed less than a factory RC30.
