Honda Gold Wing description

This is my 2013 Goldwing 1800 Audio, Comfort, Navigation, XM Radio, and ABS.  Comes with factory heated grips and seat (separate seat controller for rider and passenger). In dash navigation, AM/FM/XM radio, and ABS.  I have added a rider's backrest, folding highway pegs, Ram cell phone holder, side fairing wind deflectors, a V-Stream windshield (original shield will be included with purchase), and handlebar risers (lifts the bars about 1" higher and 1" closer to the rider)  I have just over 11K miles on it but that may vary slightly as this is still used as a mode of transportation for now (not used often, maybe a trip to the grocery store).  It's been a great bike but the wife has decided she no longer wants to ride and I just have no use for it anymore without taking her.  Please feel free to contact with any questions.  I will not be accepting PayPal on this transaction because they honestly charge too much.  Cash, check, and cashier's check only (please allow time for those modes to clear).  The bike is currently financed through Honda Financial Services and the title will be sent out via FedEx as soon as it's received.  If you're local and would like to see the bike in person please feel free to contact me and arrange a meeting.  Buyer is responsible for all shipping I will however deliver the bike (riding it) within 100 miles.  since purchasing it from the local dealer it has spent it's time garaged with the exception of a couple road trips.

Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track,  Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.

Buying countless tatty bikes. And that Marquez fella

Fri, 10 May 2013

A South African friend of mine called Trevor Binder told me last weekend I’m quite obviously in the advanced stages of a terrible disease. He recognises the affliction because he admits to suffering from the same condition for many years and so far hasn’t found a cure.  He says he can’t stop collecting bikes and while I didn’t think I had a problem, last weekend he pointed out I should be careful as I’m starting to acquire bikes at an alarming rate. I wasn’t really worried about spending a modest amount of cash an old KTM 125 race bike, a 350 LC and a Fizzy over the past six months but Trevor says I’m on a slippery slope.  He says it always starts with bikes that have some sentimental value but then swiftly moves on to buying any old tat.  Trevor is a wealthy man with dozens of nice bikes in his collection but more recently has been on Gumtree bidding for £150 Solex front wheel drive step - thrus, and doesn’t know why.  Closer to home, James Whitham has recently confirmed he may also have these symptoms and is actively seeking therapy.  I’ll be monitoring the situation from now on but in the meantime if anyone hears of a reasonably priced Raleigh Wisp for sale please let me know.

Church of MO: 1996 Honda Helix

Sun, 31 Oct 2021

The Honda Helix came to the US in 1986 and ran `til 2007; MO gave it the old once-over 25 years ago. With its long wheelbase and massive 244 cc performance, the Helix achieved cult status in Japan, and weenie status here in the land of the free. Hey, it was 1996!
