Honda Announces Strong Third Quarter
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Honda Motor Co., Ltd., has announced its consolidated financial results for the fiscal third quarter which ended December 31, 2013. Hondas consolidated net income attributable to Honda Motor Co., Ltd. for the fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2012 totaled $894 million, an increase of 62.5% from the same period last year.
Honda MotoGP Production Racer Undergoes Testing at Motegi
Mon, 27 May 2013Development of Honda‘s new production racer is well underway, as the new (relatively) low-cost MotoGP racebike underwent testing at Japan’s Twin Ring Motegi circuit May 23-24. Conceived as a lower-cost option for race teams, the production racer project is running slightly behind schedule but Honda still expects it will available in time for the 2014 MotoGP season. Early reports estimate the price for the production racer to be around US$1.26 million, a substantial price, but still considerably less expensive than rumored $3.9 million it currently costs to lease a Honda RC213V for one season.
2012 Honda NC700X Recalled in Canada
Wed, 19 Sep 2012Transport Canada has announced a recall for the 2012 Honda NC700X and (Edit: the recall now includes the NC700S, which is also available in Canada). At this point, the recall is only for the X model and only in Canada, but a similar recall may come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the U.S.-spec Honda NC700X. According to Transport Canada, the outer plates on the links of the drive chain may not have received proper heat treatment.
