Honda Gold Wing description

In addition to all the standard features of the GL1800A3 this is the ABS model with CB, factory heated grips and IPod connection and has over $3500 in additional accessories which I will attempt to list below.

The suspension has been upgraded both front and rear with Progressive springs and ALL Balls roller steering head bearings.

I purchased this bike from my riding partner in 2008 with 40,000 miles on the odometer when he just couldn't live without a GPS model, so I know the bike's history and have all the service records. This bike is in great shape, everything works and all maintenance and preventative maintenance has been done every 5000 miles with full synthetic oils. It is truly ready to ride. Within the last 3000 miles all fluids were changed to include the clutch, brakes, radiator and front forks. The brake pads were replaced along with fluid flush and Metzler tires installed. Mechanically this bike is perfect. This bike is accident free and has only a minor scratch or two to show for wear. Good luck trying to find them. If you look closely you will notice that the front panel below the windshield is slightly darker in color, this is because I had the original panel airbrushed and kept it for my new bike. If you can't live with the darker color, the panel can be replaced  with a chrome panel for apx. $60, only 2 bolts hold it on.  The bike has always been garaged and housed in the desert southwest away from the ocean salt air and road salts.

This is not a complete list of accessories but I'll try:

chrome items:  timing chain cover; valve covers;  gas cover key knob; floorboard side covers;  swing arm covers; battery box covers; passenger floorboard; frame cover; fairing side accent; air intakes; trunk grills; rear fender trim; brake and clutch levers; front fender extension

Other items:  Kuryakyn highway pegs; handlebar set backs; Kuryakyn heel/toe shifter; Kuryakyn driver foot pegs; Kuryakyn luggage rack; Hondaline spoiler with stoplight; Hondaline fog lights; saddlebag and trunk carpets; CB radio; passenger audio controller; leather wrapped heated grips; remote control security; brake light modulator; cigarette lighter and IPod connection; cover; and  Kuryakyn driver backrest.

This is turn key, ready to ride bike. If you have any questions please give me a call at 435-674-1016.  At almost $1500 under NADA low retail I think the "buy it now" price is very fair.  I'm always up for a road trip so delivery is an option.

NEW: Yoshimura ends cans for Honda CB1000R

Wed, 10 Feb 2010

LEGENDARY JAPANESE tuning house Yoshimura has designed a series of slip-on performance end cans for Honda’s naked CB1000R.The brand new EEC-approved cans bolt straight onto the bike's exiting pipework and feature a stainless steel end cone and integral lower Yoshimura logoed cat-converter heat shield. Even with the dB-Killer baffle in place peak power is improved, as is mid-range torque with further performance gains available if the baffle is removed.A full race mid-pipe, extracting yet more power is on the way and will be available later in the year. The Yoshimura CB1000R Slip-On, including the supplied heat shield, is over 4kgs lighter than the OE item, the Carbon sleeve, even more so at just 4.65kg.Part Number/Sleeve Type/Weight/RRP including VAT1A0-480-5B50         Stainless Steel           2.61kg                       £712.711A0-480-5B80          Titanium                    2.45kg                        £770.181A0-480-5B80B         Titan Blue                 2.45kg                        £850.651A0-480-5B90          Carbon                      2.35kg                        £896.631A0-480-5B20          Metal Magic               2.61kg                        £793.17         Noise Output (decibels)Standard end can: 94dB    @ 5,000rpmYoshimura EEC Slip-On:  94.5dB @ 5,000rpm(with db-killer in place)

Spa, onboard, at pace..

Thu, 12 Jan 2012

Earlier this week we revised the 2012 MotoGP calendar and included Spa on the list. Yes, we know the chances of MotoGP going to Spa are thinner than a steam-rolled Supermodel but we like the thought of MotoGP going there. Check out this video of FIM 2009 World Superstock champion, Xavier Simeon, onboard a Honda CBR600RR, putting in a scorcher of a lap.

Help settle an argument

Wed, 08 Feb 2012

I'm happy to admit that I'm a little bit different; I believe that brown is an underused colour in motorcycling and we need to move on from custom café racers and introduce a dustbin fairing craze - you know I'm right. So, as Ben Cope - known around the Visordown office for being rather stubborn - and I were looking over various scooters on the 'net we uncovered the above machine, Honda's Big Ruckus 250. Instantly I thought that the Big Ruckus was absolutely cool, whereas Ben likened it to a 'mobility scooter'.
