Honda Gold Wing description

78 Honda Goldwing. I purchased this bike from the son of the original owner after his father passed away(paperwork to prove it). Included with purchase are the original headlight assembly and turn signals, tool kit, owners manual, shop manual, and cycle sound radio. Since I bought it I have had the following work done--new tires and battery, fork seals replaced, new o-rings in cooling system, carbs rebuilt, new brakes. Speakers are DWG waterproof with amp--plug in I-pod for tunes. All work was done locally by "The Shop" a place that specializes in VINTAGE bikes NOT named Harley. The "not perfect"--left side panel is cracked, seat has a few small tears, the travel trunk key assembly is missing, small scratch on left side bag, tach doesn't work. As it sits now this bike will be someones daily driver. With a little TLC it would be a great show piece. Down payment of $500 within 24 hours via paypal. 888Haulbikes is based locally and I could get bike to them to help out with shipping costs.

Postie Bike Challenge [video]

Fri, 19 Jun 2009

The Postie Bike Challenge started in 2002 as a one-off event in Brisbane, Australia to prove that small bikes can travel long distances over both asphalt, dirt, sand, or stony surfaces has turned into a 10-day charity event.  The entry fee is $4,000 but almost everything is taken care of, including: Late model Honda CT110 Postie bike (registered to you!) All breakfasts, lunches and dinners All fuel for the trip One way air ticket back to Brisbane Support truck to carry equipment, clothing bag and mechanics Final celebration dinner and hotel accommodation That’s right, you can keep the Honda CT110 Postie bike (designed for commercial and agricultural, also used by Australia Post) but the concept is to give the bike to charity in your name after the event is over, its up to you but more than 90% of the participants do give the bike back. Hit the jump to see the video and for more info on this years trek. The 2009 Postie Bike Challenge will take place from October 3rd to the 13th and will go from Brisbane to Melbourne, the destination changes every year.  The route taken will be about 2,000 miles (the direct route is about 1,000 miles).  If your interested, get your entry form and deposit in ASAP, last years event was sold out.

Honda Reports Q3 2011-2012 Results

Tue, 31 Jan 2012

Honda reported a 41% decrease in net income over the third quarter, thanks primarily to the rising Japanese yen, continuing effects from the Japanese earthquake and floods in Thailand interrupting automobile production. Thanks to recovering auto sales and growing motorcycle sales in emerging markets, Honda reported a net profit of 47.6 billion yen (US$624 million) in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2011.
