Honda Reports Q2 2012-2013 Results

Honda reported a 1.8% increase in motorcycle sales in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2012, including a 13.2% increase in North America. According to the company’s second quarter report for its 2012-2013 fiscal year, Honda sold 3.879 million motorcycles over those three months, up slightly from 3.811 million units from the same period last year.

WSBK: 2012 Miller Results

Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. Honda Developing V4 MotoGP Production Racer

Honda is reportedly developing a production racer based on its RC213V racebike that could be sold to teams looking to compete in MotoGP. The new racebike is expected to be of a lower-spec than the RC213V prototype but perform better than a CRT machine with a production-based engine. According to a report by racing site MotoMatters and French magazine Moto Journal, the new V4-engined production racer will be sold to race teams instead of being leased, as is the case with current satellite teams and their race prototypes.
