Everyone is going to remember 2013 as the year Honda took the 450 class and blew it WIDE open with the totally redesigned CRF450R. Huge changes are going to jump out at you. First is the CRF450R’s all-new air-fork front suspension. Nearly two pounds lighter than a coil-spring fork, it offers easier adjustment, less internal friction, and even better handling. Next, an all-new twin-spar aluminum frame. You’ll see some big changes in the steering-head area. That’s because the frame is designed specifically to work with the new fork. Check out the CRF450R’s short radical new twin exhaust. The system moves the mufflers in way closer to the bike’s center of mass. They’re super short and compact, and work in perfect concert with the 2013 model’s new bodywork to make this the most flickable CRF450R ever! In fact, everywhere you look you’re going to see upgrades this year: The engine gets a new piston shape, porting, and valve timing, along with more compression for more power. The radiators are smaller and flow more air. The clutch is totally redesigned with six springs for better feel at the lever. Even the footpegs and tires get the Honda touch. Bradl Staying with LCR Honda for 2014 MotoGP Season
Thu, 15 Aug 2013The LCR Honda announced Stefan Bradl has signed a one-year contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) that will see the German rider return with the team for the 2014 MotoGP season. Bradl won the 2012 MotoGP Rookie of the Year award with the LCR Honda squad and currently sits sixth in the 2013 championship standings after earning his first career MotoGP-class podium with a second-place result at Laguna Seca. The 2011 Moto2 champion will continue to receive factory support from HRC while racing for Lucio Cecchinello’s LCR squad.

Presumably, if your pockets are deep enough to buy all the engine parts from Kitaco (how about a DOHC four-valve head?), this sort of performance is within the reach of every C90 Honda owner. All those cabbies doing their 'knowledge' would make mincemeat of London traffic with this sort of acceleration.

Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick.
