2012 HONDA CRF250R **NO FEES, EVER!**, EVER!, A Champion Gets Even Better.Of all the classes in motocross, the 250s are one of the toughest. And Hondas CRF250R is the bestbetter than ever, in fact, with some great new updates for 2012.Taking a cue from our revised CRF450R, weve changed the rear shock linkage so you get a softer start and a stiffer finish. It responds to small bumps better, but still resists bottoming over really big hits. Fine-tuning the rear travel helps with steering during hard braking and on long, fast downhill sections. New suspension settings front and rear keep the balance right and increase steering precision. In addition, the CRF250R gets a new cyclinder head and new camshaft, and new throttle body, airbox and intake boot, all designed to give you more user-friendly power. And finally weve even given the 2012 CRF250R wider, longer footpegs for better grip and comfort and fitted it with premium Dunlop MX51 tires for superior traction in corners and under acceleration.Light Makes Might.Compact and batteryless, the CRF250Rs Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system optimizes performance, and improves fuel efficiency.Dialed-in Performance.New front and rear suspension settings and rear shock linkage assembly keep the CRF250R hooked up and out in front. Youll notice how well it steers the first time out.Honda Power.New cylinder head, new cam, and new throttle body, airbox, and intake boot all contribute to the CRF250Rs power for 2012. Two-fifties need to make plenty of power, but it has to be usable power. And the CRF250R delivers the way only a Honda can.Straighten Up and Fly Right.Developed by our factory racing team, the Honda Progressive Steering Damper is lightweight, compact and enhances cornering ability while reducing rider fatigue.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes
Sat, 01 Nov 2008KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
