First, a new cylinder head, new cam, and new piston help this CRF150R run more consistently at different tracks, different elevations and different temperatures. An improved "direct push" accelerator pump gives you better, more immediate throttle response. New suspension valving returns improve action on small bumps but keeps the 150’s excellent large-bump performance. The CRF150R. For aspiring racers it’s just what every motocrosser wants. Tue, 10 Jan 2012My long-term Fireblade went back to Honda last week and, seeing as it’s sunny and mild outside now, I’m already missing it. It is one of the best 1000cc sports bikes out there, I don’t care what anyone else says, the way it makes its power is just perfect for fast road use. With the Power Commander 5 fitted and the fuelling sorted my 2011 Blade performed as well if not better than the 2012 version.
McGuinness to Race Honda CBR500R at 2013 Isle of Man TT

Sharing much of the same components as its siblings the CB500X and CB500F, it’s easy for critics to question whether the CBR500R is worthy of the CBR designation. The first thing Honda did to try to dispel those worries is to secure the CBR500R as the spec race bike for the 2013 European Junior Cup, a racing series for youths held at select rounds of the World Superbike Championship.
