Weve given our quarter-liter wonder some serious upgrades for 2011 and it likes to win. Because theres a new 94 dB exhaust rule this year, we gave the CRF250R a new muffler. But we also gave it a new ECU settings which, combined with the exhaust, gives you more usable power, especially in the midrange. Its a win-win situation: A quieter bike and one thats even easier to ride. Like the CFR450R, we also gave the CRF250R a new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) with a new, bigger 24 mm piston. That gives you more damping when you need it, but still remains as transparent as ever when you dont. Honda Re-Signs Marc Marquez Through 2016 MotoGP Season
Wed, 14 May 2014Marc Marquez has signed a contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation that will see the reigning MotoGP champion stay with the manufacturer through the end of the 2016 season. “We are very satisfied to have reached an agreement to keep Marc in the team for a further two seasons,” says Shuhei Nakamoto, executive vice president of HRC. “Of course, as Honda, we wanted to keep Marc in our family, and he also wanted to stay with us so … it was natural to renew the contract even if it is very early in the season!
MotoGP Axes Claiming Rule and Adjusts Moto2 Engine Swap Fees
Wed, 03 Jul 2013The International Motorcycling Federation‘s Grand Prix Commission officially annulled MotoGP‘s Claiming Rule. Effective immediately, teams using the official spec Magneti Marelli ECU hardware and software are exempt from having their engines claimed. Starting in the 2014 season however, the claiming rule will be cancelled completely.
