Honda CRF tech info
Honda CRF description
This CRF was prepared by Doug Drussel, (inventor of the REVLOC clutch) for former ISDT rider Dave Mungenast of St. Louis for what was to be, his last COLORADO 500 in 2005. This bike has thousands of dollars of upgrades: AKRAPOVIC exhaust system, SCOTTS steering stabilizer, REVLOC clutch, CLARKE oversized fuel tank, KEYED ignition, electronic speedometer, odometer etc, additional LED brake light assembly, SCOTTS rear brake rotor guard, carbon fiber skid plate assembly, ACERBIS handlebar brush guards, and oversized footpegs.
For durability, the titanium intake valves were replaced with steel, and it has new piston/rings, starter brushes etc. Chain and sprockets are in good condition, and tires about 65% knobs left. It has always been garaged so no sun damage as a result. This two owner bike has always been adult ridden and the X model has the heavier flywheel, and cam grind conducive to more torque for trail work over the motorcross F models. You won't be disappointed with this beauty. Titled and tagged in the State of Colorado, it is ready to ride with a brand new battery installed. |

McGuinness Tests Mugen Shinden Electric Race Bike
Thu, 22 Mar 2012Isle of Man TT veteran John McGuinness recently got a chance to test the new Mugen Shinden electric rice bike to prepare for the 2012 TT Zero. The test took place at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, a world-class racing circuit but perhaps not-coincidentally, a track built and owned by Honda, further fueling the belief the Mugen effort is a front for the Japanese manufacturer. The Honda-contracted McGuinness put the Shinden through its first big test, helping the Mugen team gather data on the electric racer.
Pit Biking; good clean fun for all the family
Wed, 01 Feb 2012If you haven’t tried Pit Biking yet, you’re missing out on some incredible fun, and it won’t break the bank. The majority of pit bikes are of Chinese origin and I guess, are best described as modern day monkey bikes. Yes Chinese, and I’ve witnessed them being thrashed round all day long without missing a beat, so Jonny Wong and co. are finally getting there on quality and reliability! Although Pit Bikes are designed for off road use, an extra few hundred quid spent on matching up wheels, fitting tarmac tyres and some crash protection will mean you’re track ready for a total of around £600.
San Carlo Gresini To Field CRT Entry with Honda CBR1000RR Engine
Tue, 15 Nov 2011The San Carlo Gresini race team announced it will compete in the 2012 MotoGP World Championship as a Claiming Rules Team with a Honda CBR1000RR engine in an FTR prototype chassis. The move is a late, but unfortunately necessary change from the team’s original plan to run the factory-level Honda RC213V racebike. The late Marco Simoncelli was tabbed to ride the newest version of Honda’s MotoGP machine next season, but after his tragic death, Gresini had to find another option if it wanted to continue racing.
