Honda CBX description

1980 Honda CBX.
For 1980, Honda installed pneumatic (in addition to springs) front forks, put needle bearings in the rear swing arm instead of bushings, used reversed spoke Comstar wheels, 530 O ring chain instead of 630, an 85 MPH speedometer (go figure)......

I purchased this bike from a relative when it was 4 months old and have had it ever since.
As you can see by the mileage, this bike has been ridden every year of its life. It has never been abused or raced. It starts well, runs well, shifts well, rides well, and needs nothing. Tires are almost new. I installed a new battery last year. I keep it on a Battery Tender year round.

It has an ATK front fork brace that I added years ago, a main fuse holder that uses a standard plug in fuse, and a K&N air filter element.
Other than those few items, from the seat, to the paint, exhaust, gauges, etc., it is all original.

The engine has never been apart. It does weep a small amount of oil from the chain sprocket seal, but has done so for 25 years.

It is not a trailer queen. It has been ridden for 36 years and so has a couple of slight chips and dings consistent with its use.
 Although not a show bike 10, I'd rate it a solid 8+.
Excellent for a machine this age that has been ridden and enjoyed.

Please, serious buyers only that have funds to back their bids. Don't waste my and other Ebay members time bidding if you cannot afford or have no intention of completing the purchase.

A $200 non refundable deposit will be due to Paypal within 3 days of winning the auction.
The remainder of funds are to be cash or bank check, due when the bike is picked up.
Pick up should be within 10 days of the end of auction. If you cannot pick up within that time frame, please contact me to make other arrangements.

The bike is being listed as local pickup only.
If you cannot pick up locally, all shipping arrangements and costs are YOUR responsibility.
Full payment is needed before the bike is released.

Even though it runs great, the bike is sold as is with no warranty.

SORRY TO keep carpin’ on about porcelain bathroom products but this beauty, I think, is of great motorcycling significance. Feast on its elegant lines and classical, elegant beauty. Combining an integral hand basin (with a nifty electrically operated water pump in the cistern lid) this john not only provides ingenious space saving design techniques but also serves as a timely reminder to wash your hands once you’ve pointed Percy at the porcelain.
