Honda CB description

For Sale 1979 Honda CB650 Cafe Racer / Brat Project Bike 95% Complete

Motor was gone thru by Pinwall Cycles in Canton, OH
Brand NEW Keihen Racing Carbs installed by Maximum Performance and Handling in Cuyahoga Falls, OH
Many new parts from Dime City Cycles
Electric wiring done by Madmoto Co. in Euclid, OH

Complete custom build by current owner down to bare frame, de-tabbed, rear seat frame removed and seat hoop added, frame painted frame matte black. Air box removed and original carbs replaced with Custom Keihen Racing Carbs with Pod Filters (could be swapped out for velocity stacks). Original exhaust painted matte black hi-heat paint with Titanium header wrap. Original tank sanded and painted with custom paint job (still has a few original dents in not fixed prior to paint including one large dent on the right side pictured). One small chip in the paint on the left side of the tank as seen in pictures from handle bars hitting the tank prior to adjustments. New brake and clutch controls, new throttle control and throttle body, rebuilt front and rear brakes with new pads in both. Brand NEW custom seat from Tuffside. New Ballistic battery with charger. All new wiring, new gages from Dime City Cycles speedo and RPM only. Only has basic wiring for motor, headlight (w/ hi/lo), rear LED brake light new with integrated LED turns rear only (no front turns). New ignition relocated to near right knee and choke is on the carbs now near left knee instead of on handlebars. Well over $7k in part and labor into the bike not including any of my time with the fabrication and assembly work. Title shows 31,425 miles (I put about 500 on it before starting the rebuild and rebuild included the new gages which cleared the mileage - I bought it in July of 2014 road half the summer and started the rebuild that Fall/Winter)

95% complete because the motor has a small leak around 1 bolt (can be fixed by removing bolt and putting a bead of Gasket Maker around it and reinstalling it - I did this on the top of the motor and it fixed the leak there I just didn't catch this bolt when I did it). This leak is clearly shown in the pictures. Also needs jetted and dyno tuned now that the electric is fixed. I took it to Maximum Performance and Handling to have this done but when I got it there the carbs hydrolocked and prevented us from firing it and we drained the battery trying. I filled the gas tank and bled the air/fuel mixture screws and got the hydrolock to go away. Bike starts and can be ridden just needs a little throttle to start and wants to stall when you stop unless you keep a little throttle on it which is an idle adjustment. Also backfires a bit which can be fixed with he jetting and dyno tune.

I am selling now rather than finishing the project out because I won't be able to ride it. I have 3 herniated discs in my neck and won't be getting back onto a bike so I am looking to sell this project and put the money into a car project instead.

Title is in hand and bike is located at my shop in Stow, OH about 5 minutes from my house. I am available to show anytime.

And it's goodbye to all that ...

WHAT, you may well be asking, is a picture of an upturned helicopter doing on a website dedicated to motorcycles? Chopper fans amongst you may know this isn't any ordinary helicopter, it's an Agusta 109C; an 8-seat twin-turbine multi-million dollar aircraft capable of whisking its occupants across the sky at around 170mph. And my point is?

Back when GPs were really good: Part 2

Rossi versus Gibernau at Brno in 2003. Most of the time Rossi and Gibernau came together, it was a classic in the making but while Rossi on the factory Honda hunting down Gibernau on the satellite Honda is well worth watching, the threat of a looming Bayliss on the Ducati makes this one even better. Gibernau, fresh from a win in Germany at the previous round - having beaten Rossi to the line by 0.060 seconds - was full of fight.

Honda Raises MSRP for 2013 NC700X But Lowers Price for DCT Option

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

The big news from Honda last week was the introduction of the new CTX700 and CTX700N cruisers. Flying a little under the radar however was a change to American Honda‘s pricing structure for the 2013 NC700X which sees a price increase for the base model but a price cut for combined anti-lock brakes and a dual clutch transmission Honda introduced the NC700X last year at an impressively low price of $6999 for the base model and $8999 with ABS and DCT. The low price point was one key advantage we awarded the 2012 NC700X over the $7899 Kawasaki Versys in our recent Middleweight Multi-Tool Shootout.
