Honda CB description

Very nice original 1976 Honda CB400F. I believe I am the 2nd owner with paperwork back to the original owner.  I have owned it since 2006. Initially I just installed a new battery and AVON RoadRider "sticky" tires.   Tuned up in 2009-2010. I road it during the summers until 18 months ago when it developed a carb leak. Has been sitting covered in garage ever  since. The bike is in very nice original condition; virtually no rust anywhere including rims (1 small spot on right rear swing arm), dent free and clean gas tank (clear coat  fading in some spots), all electric working, shifts nice, manual starter fine-electric starter makes an occassional noise when turning over, all decals in place including some yellow factory paint.  All rubber in nice condition. Includes owner manual, original keys, tools, missing tool case lid. Since it was only used in the summer, moisture developed around the muffler "weep" hole and rusted a dime size hole. As well there is a 2-3" crack on the edge of the header-I don't believe it is rust and should weld. Header too nice to replace. Headlight lamp missing a small piece of the plastic housing-covered by black electrical tape in the photo.  Seat in beautiful condition. So in conclusion an excellent original example of the limited production 400F that needs; carbs rebuilt, battery and front disk brake rebuilt (from sitting), and header welded (recommended). If the reserve price is met I will include a freshly painted headlight shell and used muffler. This bike is sold as is and with no guarantees.

This video of the Knockhill end of season Jock Taylor meeting in 1988 makes me smile. Even although I had the dream ticket of riding for HRC in the 500cc World Championship I never stopped wanting to come back to the homeland and race my old mates. Brian Morrison started racing on the same day as myself and went on to have a successful carreer riding for Honda in the UK then later in the World Endurance Championship.

Does your 2010 Honda Fury have Sloppy Welds?

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

The 2010 Honda Fury Chopper has been out for a few weeks now and people have been buying them up all across North America.  A local Honda dealer revealed to us that he only received 4 choppers from Honda and sold them before they even arrived at his shop. The Fury is at a great price for those who want a stylish chopper look, but are you sacrificing quality for a bargain chopper?  Do sloppy welds break your heart or can you tough it out and live with them knowing you got a unique looking bike at an affordable price? See the full post for pictures and opinions.

James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing

Fri, 09 Sep 2011

Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.
