Honda CB description

You are looking at one VERY nice CB450.  If you are in the market for a vintage motorcycle, you are looking at the right one.  I have gone through the bike from front to back.  If it needed replacing, I replaced it.  If it needed restoring, I restored it.  If it needed to be updated, I updated it.  I'm going to place a list below of everything that has been replaced.  The points were replaced with electronic system.  The rectifier was replaced with a much more modern system.  The seat was hand stitched, matching the bike in gold and black (dropped 2" as well, removing the old loaf of bread look).  Everything works as it should.  The bike fires up right away every time.  The bike idles at 1400 on the dot (you don't want a low idle on these bikes because you want the oil getting to the head).  These bikes are becoming more rare and one in this shape is hard to come by.  Please understand that to buy a bike locally and go through it takes countless hours.  I not looking to make a mint on this bike, just what is fair for a fully restored vintage motorcycle.  People think that you can buy one on CL for $1200 to $1500 and it's going to be like this, wrong!  I have been doing this for many years now and I spend the time to make sure the bad secrets are discovered before it leaves my shop.  I didn't have the heart to cut it up and change it.  It's just too nice of a bike to do that.

I restore bikes all the time (I put some of the other restoration pictures in this ad to show you what level of restoration I perform / this is not just a one time bike / I do these bikes all year long and know what I'm doing).  I cut my teeth on CT90's, this is why you are seeing those two bikes.

Please feel free to ask any questions.  I can guarantee you that seeing it in person is even better than the pictures.  The pictures just don't do the bike the justice that it deserves.

The title is a clean Colorado title in my name.

Bike is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

I can help facilitate meeting a carrier if you are shipping the bike out of state.

Payment: $500 Deposit within 24 hours of auction end (NON REFUNDABLE).  Final payment will need to be made in check (must clear before bike can be picked up) or cash.  If you plan on using Paypal for final payment I will apply the additional charge involved with that.  Please ask any questions before you bid.

Any bid with less than 10 feedback will need to contact me.  I will cancel the bid if I don't hear from you.

Good Luck, thanks for looking!

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
