Honda CB description

1970 Honda CB450.  (build date 11/69).  Only 7987 miles, and in good running condition. Starts very easily with both the electric start and the kickstart.  Sounds great, like a Honda 450 should.

Original paint, chrome, & seat.  The paint has the usual sunfade, and some of the chrome has the typical pitting such as the rear fender, the wheels, and the handlebars.  The exhaust is nice with good chrome.   The gas tank is very clean inside (see pic).  We have ultrasonic cleaned the carburetors, adjusted float levels, air mixture screws, and idle stops to factory specifications.  Ignition point gaps were adjusted and timing set to factory settings. Engine oil was drained and refilled with Bel-Ray 10w40 motorcycle oil.  New period correct tires and tubes were installed. The bike starts easily and holds a nice idle.  I have personally ridden this bike about 40-50 miles and it runs and ride nice, shifts through all the gears fine, and clutch feels good.  Both gauges work properly, as do all the indicator lights, headlight, taillight, and horn.  The charging system was tested and is putting out 13.8 volts.

Basically this bike is in good mechanical condition, but could use some work in the cosmetic department.  I think a new paint job and a few other minor cosmetic items (such as new fork boots), will make this bike a real head-turner.  Diablo Cycle carry's the original tank decals, and VMR Paints stocks the original candy color paint set for this bike.

If you've been looking for a nice original Vintage Japanese Motorcycle to restore & take to shows, this one would be a great candidate.  This is a numbers matching bike. Clear title in my name, with no salvage history, and actual mileage.

Taliban Magazine Condemns America but Praises Honda

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Manufacturers are usually glad to hear positive reviews of their products, but we’ve got a feeling Honda is not happy about the ringing endorsement it received from the latest issue of the Taliban-published magazine “Azan“. The English-language magazine is a pro-Jihadist quarterly; pure propaganda designed to recruit impressionable and disillusioned Muslims in the West. It’s somewhat jarring then to find buried within the radical rhetoric a full page spread on a 125cc Honda as one of the Taliban’s “Steeds of War”.
