Harley-Davidson VRSC tech info
Harley-Davidson VRSC description
This 2006 V-ROD Turbocharged Streetrod (VRSCA) was a beast even before its owner got his hands on it.
Engine
- The V-Rod and the Street Rod share the same engine, called the Revolution, which was designed in partnership with Porsche. The Revolution was an 1130 cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected DOHC with a 60-degree V-twin cylinder engine having four valves per cylinder.Bore and stroke were 100 mm by 72 mm and the compression ratio was 11.3-to-1. According to "Motorcycle Cruiser" magazine, the Street Rod produced more horsepower than the V-Rod, "Not from any internal engine tweaks but from the Street Rod's exhaust, which is less restrictive." The Street Rod produced 120 horsepower at 8,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 80 foot-pounds at 7,000 rpm in stock form. Not bad....not bad at all, especially on such a lightweight bike.
So folks, let me tell you what we have here. This definitely ain't your daddy's Harley.
This has a 1130cc liquid cooled PORSCHE designed engine.Vivid Black / Silver with a smattering of Chrome.
Your stock V-Rod only has a 32 degree lean angle, this one can be tossed all the way over to 40 degrees.
Aggressive brakes, this bike sports Brembo4-piston pinchers, dual front and single back. Those are further aided by Lyndall Z+Racing Pads.
You won't have annoying front-end dive when grabbing a handful of brakes on this monster.
43mm Showa inverted forks and race quality fork oil make you feel connected to the road.
Handlebars are chrome with chrome grips for a positive feel even with wet gloves on.
The most extreme modification comes via a Traks Performance Turbo System: sporting a Garrett TC-25 ceramic ball bearing Turbo Piping 9
pounds of boost to the engine through an Inter cooler.
Aftermarket ECU in the form of ThunderMax ECU with the AutoTune module to keep the A/F Ratios in check,
accurately too thanks to a 2-bar MAP Sensor. This may sound like a lot of motorcycle.
But unless you're grabbing a handful of throttle this bike performs as stock.
What are the numbers you may ask? All dynos are different, but in Phoenix's HIGH ALTITUDE it put out 168hp/115ftlb torque.
At lower altitudes it's even stronger.
Have you have ever wanted to get into drag racing?! If so, this is the machine for you! A turn key, already set up, 10.xx second bike.
And this thing is tuned for 91 octane, gas from
your local gas station.
The gas tank is an interesting piece. What you see on top is a stylish facade.
If you look carefully, what you think are the side covers are actually the sides of the gas tank.
It's a fairly large tank..about 5 gallons allowing the bike to go reasonably far between fill ups.
The filler is under the flip up seat.
And please don't worry about reliability. The turbo was installed when the bike had about
500 miles and it currently has about 29000 original miles. Turbos have been enhancing engine power
for years are both cars and commercial vehicles. It's a proven reliable science.
What prevents any issues is the pressure relief valve that releases any excess pressure.
No way to give this bad boy a "headache".
Oh, check out these special grips. The throttle grips end unscrews and you have a
private little hiding place for money, documents...whatever you can fit in there.
What a cool idea.
And it's a great handling bike. I have heard rumor that the owner has been caught taking
pictures while having his hands OFF THE BARS at about 120 mph.
Yup....it's nuts but it's his choice. But it does give you a good idea as to how well the handling
has been dialed in.
Now, understand......the bike definitely looks sharp but it isn't a show bike.
It was built for form and function. There are a few paint chips and scratches here and there....nothing horrible.
And you can make it perfect cosmetically if you want with very little effort.
The 2 pictures below show where the frame is scratched and the scratch on the horn.
But if you want a "sleeper" that can cruise aroundslowly or just ride around leisurely, this bike can do it.
And when you want to get it on....HOLD ON TIGHT.
Tires are new front and rear having less than 500 miles at the time of this posting.
Also, there are a few small rock chips on the front of the front fender.
And there is no damage anywhere to be found on the underside of the bike.
I am helping the builder of this incredible machine sell his bike.
Let me tell you, there's over $7000 in the engine alone on this bike.....FOR REALS.
And I have seen other bikes of this quality and performance going for close to $15000.
This folks is a TRUE BARGAIN.

Marisa Miller Takes Harley-Davidson Rider’s Edge Training [Video]
Tue, 26 Jul 2011If there’s one thing I like more than motorcycles, it’s hot supermodels, such as Victoria’s Secret Angel, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl and Harley-Davidson spokesmodel Marisa Miller. Miller has appeared in a number of promotional spots for The Motor Company in recent years, most notably for the Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle and to support Harley-Davidson’s U.S. Military Appreciation programs (one of Miller’s “American Bombshell” post cards is currently my computer’s desktop wallpaper).
