Harley-Davidson Touring description

You can add a 21" wheel, apes and fish tails and call a bike "So-Cal" stye, but what really sets this bike apart from the rest is custom paint. And the painter, Mike D, is one of the most respected lowrider painters and judges in San Diego. He used  4 stage HOK candy silver with over 10 stages to create the panels, with fans faded into the bag cover and sides. The pictures don't really do this paint job justice, in the sun or under the lights it's insane. This bike is totally chromed out and customized with the following items:

DNA Mammoth 52 Spoke diamond cut 21X3.5 with matching rotors and pulley.

Carlini 14" flying apes. A few pictures are taken when I had 16" flying apes, but I am 5'10 and felt more comfortable with the 14"s. Braided lines with Arlen Ness grips.

The motor was upgraded to a 103 with a power commander and dyno tuning, at 10,000 miles approx. It pulls hard through all the gears, very fast.

Legend Air Ride rear suspension, professionally installed and works great. The front end was lowered 1.5" with chrome lowers, chrome bells and chrome axel covers.

Trask Performance hard bags stretched 4" over stock, custom lines with one off Mexican blankets.

Chrome bumper guards, frame chrome covers and every single chrome add on made was added to the motor area.

Samson true dual exhaust with 33" cholo fish tails, chrome controls and switches.

The bike is pictured with a solo seat and a two-up seat which is included in the sale with extra shipping charges. Also included with extra shipping is a detachable back rest. So yes, you can take your girl for a cruise on this ride. The bike runs great, pulls hard through the gears and stops well and had never been dropped. I know it takes a leap of faith to buy something at this price point without seeing it, so I am happy to answer any questions or provide more pictures. I am also happy to assist in shipping. The title is clean and in hand. To build this bike, especially with this paint job would cost way more than what I am asking, but its time to buy a house for my newborn son and wife.

The bike is for sale locally and the ebay ad will be removed if sold

Thanks for looking!

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
